Sixto Rodriguez died today, 8/9/23. He was a “failed” musician who was a MEGA star in South Africa unbeknownst to him until he was discovered as a construction worker in the US about 10 years ago. He had no idea he was a bigger star than Elvis in SA. The movie “Searching for Sugar Man” was about his story.
Oddly enough, Joe Rogan had Post Malone on his show today (Wednesday) and they dedicated about 20 minutes talking about him. Weird thing is that the segment was recorded on Monday, two days before Rodriguez died.
