I met Bill Russell at a wedding of a friend's sister in Portland, Maine in July 1967. I was 17 years old and it took me nearly two days to catch my breath and return to planet earth after he shook my hand and placed the largest hand I ever saw on my shoulder. One of the most profound and memorable moments of my life.
