Indeed. My guess is that Bush would have been injured if he had more carries.
White was an uber-stud in his own right in his college days.

If Reggie Bush gets hurt game 1 in 2005, LenDale White is a Heisman trophy winner. People forget that it was a true timeshare in USC between those two. It actually would have been interesting to see what would have happened if EITHER of those players received most of the snaps instead of splitting time with each other.
"If"?? That is a very big word!!! Coulda, shoulda, woulda!!

He might have run off the field and slipped on some concrete and hurt himself after scoring his 30th TD. :pound:

That team was just loaded. Kalil (Carolina) at center, Baker (Falcons) at RT because he wasn't the best LT one the team at the time, Winston Justice, Chilo Rachel and Duece Lutui at guards.

All 5 of the OL in front of them went in the 1st two rounds of the NFL draft eventually.

And the defense was actually MORE talented than the offense.

And all that on a team that was playing against some weak teams in a down conference.
That team was loaded. Amazing what Young did them in the NT game. One of the amazing performances in College football history.

Doesn't most Heisman winners play against some weak teams?

FAILURE.

At least he got a ring though.
Reggie has a ring. If you actually take the time to read about the SC sanctions he should have his heismans. None the less he's still accomplished more than Claussen, Quinn and Teo's imaginary career :dhd:

I remember arguing with friends about him before the draft. He fooled a lot of people into thinking he was going to be the next Sanders by running away from lesser athletes while being surrounded by NFL quality teammates. After he turned out to be not all that they still would say "they just have to figure out a way to get him the ball in space", apparently oblivious to the fact that it's the NFL where there is no "space" and everyone can run. He had a nice year here in Detroit, though, and seemed to be a great guy. Good luck to him but he was done anyway.

If I were Reggie, I would have "never" gave the Heisman back.

The failure with Reggie Bush isn't that he couldn't handle the 3rd and 2 short yardage work
The failure with Reggie Bush is that he kept fumbling punts, which was supposed to be his greatest asset

In his second year, he had eight fumbles, and the Saints took him off special teams in favor of Lance Moore and Pierre Thomas
