there have been plenty of games where a pitcher had a terrible inning (whether it was due to command issues/poor defense/etc.) and pitched well otherwise.

It's just frustrating how they've been losing. They've either been pitching well (of the last few weeks, at least) and failing to score runs. Or they're scoring runs, but getting shelled. No in-between.
