+1. If it happens, it happens but the ever-present source of "rumors" is tiring. I wish everything would settle so we know what the landscape will look like.

Doubt any so called partnership actually happens... Bowlsby even said nothing is imminent and they are also talking to other conferences. But that the acc was one of them that they were talking with

Anyone else heard rumors that UVA + Another ACC school have been invited; UVA accepted, the other school (thought to be UNC) declined?

And that Miami and FSU have been invited to the BIG12?

There are plenty of rumors. It's not hard to start one -- just post whatever, wherever, and anybody interested will repeat it as if it has credibility.

In some cases, guys have found imaginary girlfriends when they wanted to believe (or wanted you to believe) hard enough.

Barry Alvarez says Big Ten won't schedule FCS teams - ESPN

"'The nonconference schedule in our league is ridiculous,' Alvarez said on WIBA-AM in Madison, Wis. 'It's not very appealing... So we've made an agreement that our future games will all be Division I schools. It will not be FCS schools.'"

Wouldn't we love to see the ACC make that move. Next step: all games against big 5 conference teams and split from the NCAA?

Also of note: "Illinois sports information director Kent Brown said the football-related topics also included reviewing the conference's divisional alignment. 'It's kind of a re-engineering of Big Ten football,' Brown said."

Yes i definitely hope the ACC (and all other AQ conferences) stop scheduling FCS teams as well. He also mentioned 9 or 10 conference games. Whoa.

I'm all for it. I think 12 league teams are perfect, not this 14-16 bull shit. 11 conference games and 1 OOC. It probably wouldn't work, but it would in my fantasy land of CFB.

10 conference games would hurt CFB without at least an 8 team playoff. Non conference games help get an idea of what teams really are the best in the country, not just in their conference. Taking FCS teams out of the equation is a good start tho
