The movie took no risks. Full of cliches and tropes. I saw it in 3D which didn't make any difference tbh. There were some cool visuals and the CGI was top notch, just nothing that stood out in the movie.

2010's Tron is still the GOAT modern day video game movie by a mile. It achieved what RP1 couldn't in terms of a connection to the characters and story.

I say see this movie once, but keep your expectations tamped. Don't be fooled by them slapping Spielbergs name on the movie while using a ghost director.

I like non-fiction if I'm going to read. I'm sure the book does a better job at world creation though, plus you're own imagination.

There is more risk in the book. That's all I'll say. It can be more gruesome than even the stacks scene.
