"We weren't going to trade (former top draft pick and current third baseman) Manny (Machado) for a guy that's going to here for three weeks and not eligible for the playoffs if we were lucky enough to make it. Not going to do it."

Before Buck, we would have shipped Manny off in a heartbeat. I love this man. (The above quote was in reference to trying to find a prospective trade to replace Nick in left field as opposed to promoting from within).

Yeah we tried to get Pierre from Philly, but since they seem to be making a run for the WC, they wanted a high return for him, and that would be stupid since he wouldnt have been eligible for the playoffs.
