Ray McDonald violates restraining order, arrested for second time in three days

Former Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ersdefensive end Ray McDonald was arrested Wednesday in Santa Clara, Calif., for violating a restraining order, Santa Clara police said in a news release.

It marked the second arrest in three days for McDonald.

The restraining order violation stemmed from McDonald's arrest Monday on charges of domestic violence and child endangerment for allegedly assaulting a woman while she was holding a baby. The Bears released McDonaldabout six hours after the arrest.

The incident was McDonald's second domestic violence arrest in the past year, though charges were not filed on the first incident in August 2014, when he was a member of the 49ers. He played in 14 games in the ensuing season, but the 49ers released him in December after he was named in a sexual assault investigation.

General manager Ryan Pace and the Bears faced criticism for signing McDonald before and after his arrest Monday.

"We believe in second chances, but when we signed Ray we were very clear what our expectations were if he was to remain a Bear," Pace said in a statement after McDonald's release. "He was not able to meet the standard and the decision was made to release him."

Odds of McDonald ever signing another NFL contract 0.0000000001.
I don't see any team taking a chance on this dude again.

Yeah. And after the big deal that Roger Goodell made about domestic violence last year, I'll be interested in seeing how bad the league penalty is going to be. Since he is a repeat offender, I thought it was indefinite banishment from the league.

Agree, the ball is now in Goodell's court. Pun intended.

Do you think this arrest will discourage Jerry from reaching out to his agent?

I sure hope so. Considering Jerry didn't look his way before the Bears did is a good sign.

I really think McDonald get banned for life, unless he begs for forgiveness.

Jerry has met his quota for wayward son's

Give him a year or two, he'll find more room. As long as they continue to be these risk free contracts I'm good with the idea.
I'm not going to act all righteous and say I rather win with only good guys. I want my team to do its best to win the damn SB. If that means we have questionable players that fine by me.

seems that a lot of punk athletes who are treated like gods from the time they're teens for being able to do special things with balls really think that rules don't apply to them
