I believe both parties will get something worked out that is somewhere in the middle of what both parties want. My guess is it may be a little more than what Texas wants to pay with a little protective language, and a little less than what josh has in mind.

now i can agree with that. incentives for 130, 140 & 150 games etc

you can't stop the hate, can you?

He's just one of the people keeping his head straight in lieu of Josh's epic performance. I'm not opposed to giving him Werth money as long as the contract can be based on number of games played to get to that top amount. Kind of hard to argue with that logic. You get paid elite money when you play at an elite level for a whole season. When you don't (be it injury or whatever) you get paid very very good money for your performance in those limited appearances.

maybe he is maybe he isn't. if he talked about keeping the guy with an incentive-based contract then i would believe he's keeping his head straight but all he's seemingly posted is let Hamilton walk. i believe that we should work on an incentive-based contract with Hamilton and ensure he doesn't walk away to some team like the Angels or the Yankees.

Don't such a drama queen, scotty. It's a legitimate question.

why is it a legitimate question? name a star who is consistent against every opponent.

he leads the mlb in BA, HR's, RBI's, TB's and SLG and is 2nd in OPS, 3rd in Runs scored & 4th OBP

I didn't get that from his post at all. And like the angels could sign him anyways lol.

and did anyone expect the Angels to sign both Pujols & Wilson this last off-season? what would stop them from going after Hamilton this off-season?

Nope, but after those acquisitions I see no way they could sign him now.

they were supposedly financially strapped before they suddenly jumped into the Pujols market and it didn't stop them and then they signed Wilson on top of that. so i don't see them backing off of doing something that would hurt us and make them better at the same time

I don't recall ever saying, "Let Hamilton walk". The point you missed was that you were quick to compare one game rather than look at the entire body of work, which included some missed games. I'm all for signing Josh, but there will have to be a line drawn at some point in a bidding war. Can't go the old CJ route, "give him a million more than anybody else is offering."

I'm really getting sick oh Wash's notion that he has to get Torrealba in the lineup multiple times a week. Especially at the expense of leaving Snyder out who's been so good so far. Torrealba is trash at the plate, and he's trash behind it.

My bad. Thought I saw he was out. Still sick of the idea that wash thinks he has to keep Torrealba in the lineup. He's total garbage.

The fact that every major hitter that goes there suddenly forget how to hit and loses all power?

I'm seeing why the Angels seem to have good pitching every year. You have to hit a 500 foot shot just to clear the wall in that dense air.
