Losing a difference maker like DDJ is a huge setback for the offense, and it's showing.
Rua Robinson and Tocci not helping much either. Hopeful of a correction.

They've scored 12 in the first 5 games

I stand corrected. But the point I was 'attempting' to make was, we've scored 7 runs in our 4 loses. Hard to win a game doing that.

I got your point. We won't win many that way.

True but they are not the only ones. Choo and Andrus off the top of my head have done well. Not sure if I missed someone but the rest are struggling.

I really want Choo to do well enough to be traded at the deadline. We already know Hamels and Beltre will most likely be traded. Getting Choo off the books would be a bonus.

And yes, this offense is really really awful. Our SP is pedestrian at best. We all know that. But with this offense being one of the worst in all of baseball its going to take monumental efforts day in and day out by the pitchers to even keep the Rangers in games. I'm afraid this pitching staff can't and won't be doing that.

and our pitching has allowed 25 runs in our 5 games. allowing 5 runs a game makes it difficult to win

I'm pretty sure the Rangers would have to eat quite a bit of Choo's salary in any trade.

The front office scraped the bottom of the barrel this offseason and didn’t really acquire anyone worth talking about.

When the front office doesn’t try, the team always sucks and we’re seeing that play out. I hope Beltre is traded to the Indians or cubs this summer.

I really hope you know better than that. If you don't, please troll some where else.

I probably should have included Gallo in with Choo and Andrus as he has had some good AB's with solid contact.

Got back last night from Madison Wisconsin and was able to watch most of the game but our youngest son was up there the week before for Epic certifications and comes back tomorrow but just wanted to say that Epic Campus is ridiculous. Over 1,000 acres and just incredible. Romeo probably knows but in case you do not Epic is the Electronic Health Records software in over 50% of the hospitals in North America. Google it sometime. Now back to baseball.

I know he hasn't much to show for the effort yet, but last night Rua hit the ball on-the-nose twice. Maybe it'll bod well for the future.

The guys I'm most worried about are Robinson, Tocci, and of course, my favorite whipping boy, Mr 2nd base.

Honestly, what moves should they have made? Who'd they pass on, and at what cost? Would any moves we made this off season made a shit-to-shineola difference in 2018?

Most of the moves, or lack thereof, are really based on 2019 and beyond.

I'm pretty sure this isn't much in the way of consolation, but the strikeout epidemic is a league-wide thing, and I'm not sure how you get rid of it. I think the Cubs set a franchise record for K's in the first 5 games of a season with 57 or some such.

I wonder all much longer the Rangers will stick him if he continues struggle.

I fully expect this team to stick with him for at least 2 months, with maybe a break or two in there. And perhaps this is fair.

Then we ship him to AAA, let him regroup, and see if he can develop into something other than what we've seen for way too long now.

But let's say we do ship him out. That puts Profar at 2nd, right? Then who's, next-man-up, when AB pulls something and has to miss 2 weeks/more?

Gallo to 3B, Guzman at 1B?

You quite possibly are right. DAMN IT. Ha ha

But one of the things which I've disagreed with is how this organization is always moving players around. Frankly, I see Gallo as a 'potentially' good/very good 1st baseman, but I'm not sure what to make of him at 3rd.
