Jeff Wilson had this to say about Langford's recent absence from the lineup:

He’s been even better at High A Hickory, where he’s batting .324 with four homers, 12 RBIs, 17 walks and only 15 strikeouts. He was also removed from the game Tuesday and didn’t play Wednesday, which got some people thinking he is getting a promotion.

Langford looks deserving of a promotion to Double A Frisco. Is he on his way?

No. The Rangers are monitoring his workload, but a bump before the end of the season is possibility.

The Rangers should promote Langford, though with Hickory potentially headed to the South Atlantic League playoffs, he could get some at-bats in a playoff atmosphere. Of course, he was a stud at the College World Series, so it’s not like the Rangers are wondering if he can handle the pressure.

He can. He could probably handle Double A, too.

Here we are in September and the Rangers will most likely play meaningful games for at least most of this month. They are on pace to win 91 games, but it wouldn't be surprising to see them be 3 or 4 games better than that or 3 or 4 games worse.

I picked them to win 87. Others picked 84, 89, and 90.

Looking back at that season prediction thread, I don't think I have ever been more wrong. lol I did pick them to select Langford, but other than that I was way, way off on most things. I am not sure if there is still a chance for me to be right about Jung winning ROY or not.

My goal now is to win the division. It is going to be an uphill battle with the difference in our schedule and the Mariners schedule. Hopefully, we can start with sweeping the Twins.

Think 18-11 gets us in but other key is to win all the series against Hous Sea and Jays

But right now need to get game 1 with some clean pitching and live/timely bats

We have had some tough luck too despite some who say you make your own luck

I want to see them stop getting behind in the count by taking so many strikes. Quit begging for a walk.

Some teams have announced their additions, while the Rangers have not. I wonder if that is because the Rangers are planning on adding someone to the 40- man, making it necessary to release someone.

I see the Rangers finishing 13-16. That would mean 88-74 and likely no playoffs unless we take 3 of 4 in Toronto. The way this team is playing no way they are winning the division. The bullpen alone will probably blow another 4-5 saves this year.

But 88-74 is a nice improvement. Obvious glaring holes in the bullpen and outfield needs some offensive help but overall not bad.

Need to resign Montgomery but he may not want to stay. If he does and Eovaldi comes back healthy plus Scherzer and Dunning ( and deGrom after AS break) .

Throw in Cole Ragans, and that's a great rotation. Unfortunately we screwed that one up royally (pun intended) so we'll have to settle for Jon Gray.

It is looking more and more like Heaney will be back in the rotation next year.

Yep I suppose he will. At 20 mil it's going to cost us by not having that extra 7 mil to pay for other better pitching. Again, another monumental front office screw up. No way Heaney projected to be worth that 7 mil extra incentive in 2024. I have no idea why CY thought that was a good business deal.

I mean Heaney at 13m next year is an overpayment already by several million dollars for a below average mlb SP. But Heaney at 20m? That is just crazy.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Rangers don’t DFA him

Definitely don’t want to see Hernandez again. The times I’ve seen him pitch in the majors, he looks like he scared to throw a strike.
