So, they gave up a player that provides depth on the DL to move up a whopping 17 spots?

Clears cap space, moves up in the draft and I'm not sure that Hayes fit the scheme. I'm A-ok with this move.

Miami is going to have a pretty badass DL this coming season ... I sure hope we will too, but much of that will likely depend on Quinn's health, which i have no confidence of at the moment... Then again, maybe he'll go next??? :noidea:

Our new d-coordinator runs a 3-4!

Now I expect them to bring in some LB help!

Too bad we couldn't find a way to utilize Robert Quinn as a 3-4 LB!

Quinn will be next and half these toads will follow Gregg Williams to Cleveland. I am sooooo glad we got rid of Bordumbass as well. That guy couldn't call a pop warner league game for any hope of a win. Need 7-yards, throw a 3-yard pass for no-gain!!! LOL!! Good riddance!!!

I thought I read somewhere that Wade was going to use Quin as an LB...

We've seen both he and Donald fall into coverage with Williams before, and they both seem to do well. Can they continue playing well with increased LB snaps? Time may only tell if and when Quinn is used this way.

I think its a great idea! .....Of course we still need more help @ LB

I don't know if Quinn is going to be able to adapt because he has been essentially an explosive edge rusher his entire career. He has also slowed with injuries and I think he is on the downside of his career. I think they should just trade him to Cleveland and let him finish his career with Williams. In fact do a package deal: Tru and Quinn for Joe Thomas and a fifth rounder.

Also, the Rams are still talking with other teams about Trumaine. We may end up having to keep him and his new salary with all of the other ridiculous contracts we just generated.

Wait, Quinn is 26 and Thomas is 32 and you say Quinn is on the down side?

I don't know Retro, I would really like to see Quinn in a Wade defense. I think dropping him into coverage will decrease his chances with injury. It's all those battles in the trenches that take their toll on these guys.

Also, can you imagine how effective he may be in the pass rush if the opponents offensive line has no idea if he's coming or not?

I'm curious to see who the 3 down linemen will be under Phillips. I have a feeling it's going to be Donald, Brockers and Easley.

Yea, Vita, even though he is 26, Quinn's injuries have taken their toll. I am sure if they drop him in coverage he may have a better year health wise, but his sack total has dropped significantly and I don't know if that will improve with a change in his duties in the new defense. He is no Von Miller that s for sure. I say clean house!

I guess I will have to just respectfully disagree here then.

IMO, since Wade only deploys a hybrid 3-4, Quinn will come with both a hand down or a step back, and when he doesn't come into their backfield, opponents will still need to account for him coming.

Remember, this is a guys that still draws doubles, so at the very least on passing downs where he drops back, he will virtually leave their most valuable lineman (LT) blocking nobody on passing downs, but for this same reason, he may seldom will see the doubles that he engendered before, and that is the intriguing part for me. I think it may increase his sack total, whether he is a Von Miller or not.

And wouldn't it just kill you to see this guy star for someone else in his prime? I mean really star? This guy has talent and maybe Von in Williams defense looks a lot like Quinn over the last few years. Who knows for sure....

And geez, I see that knuckle head Cook doing things in a Packers uni that he could have been doing in Horns but Noooooo, we brought in a recieving TE to block for pound the ball Fish... SMDH! :L

It's so hard to make these calls on who is trade worthy/bait and who is for real and who is on the backside of their career and who is not because of who the coach was the last 5 years. No one on this team looked like a keeper last season with the exception of Donald. I'm still hanging it on poor leadership and a high school playbook!
