Another solid depth signing and another versatile guy. He has played both OG positions and C.

Also another speedster signed as well. Diontae Spencer from McNeese St. 4.27 time in the 40....

Great signing, it allows the Rams to add depth at OG plus move Saffold to RT if they want. Perfect.

Yea Blue. With Saffold at RG and Robinson at LG, we have twin guards. Both 6'5, 335lbs. Huge road graders.

Lots and LOTS of flexibility here on the O line now. Saffold, Barksdale, Joseph, Jones, Barnes.. all of them can play multiple positions effectively.
Let's say hypothetically Long is not ready week 1. You could go Saffold,Joseph,Wells,Robinson,Barksdale
If he is ready you go Long,Joseph,Wells,Robinson,Saffold IMO

If Long not ready week 1??? Our #2 pick better be able to fill in for him for a game or two. If not then we just drafted Jason Smith all over again....

It should be
Robinson, Joseph, wells/jones, Saffold, Barksdale.
We don't need the Oline shuffle. Move as little pieces as possible so players have a chance to meld.

once long is ready

Long, Robinson, Wells/Jones, Saffold, Barksdale.

EXACTLY!!! The gameplan is that he becomes a good enough OG that they don't need to try him at OT. Why was he picked #2 overall? I don't understand!

I think Joseph is getting over-rated here. Unless Boudreau fixes him, he's a depth/camp signing. He was among the worst guards in the league last year.

Dude was still recovering from surgery and playing at about 80%... cut him a little slack. He won't start most likely, but because he is another guy who plays multiple positions on the line, he will stick.

Same thing was said about Barksdale when he came over from the Raiders.

I don't mind them playing him at OG until Long either retires or continues to sustain injuries, at that point they'll probably make the switch from LOG to LT. I've just seen people say, play him at RT and RG. My question is why? Why play him at a position that doesn't need to filled? RG has been filled by Rodger Saffold. And he's pretty damn good there.

Another Sooner goes to St Louis.

Man I might just start liking the Rams!

Great OG, 2x pro bowler, if he can get back to Pro Bowl form, great sign for the Rams.

Barksdale wasn't 31.

:agree: Shopson. The critics fail to recognize we have one of the best coaching staffs in the business. If Paul Boudreau can take a guy like Barksdale and turn him into a pretty darn good tackle, he'll do the same with Joseph at guard.
