The UFL is even a source for future coaching staff additions which we all know is a place for McVay to find coaches that he has to replace nearly every year.

Now that the new kicking rules are in place, the Rams are going to have draft (or find) a kick/punt return specialist. Here are some possibilities.

The new kickoffs are basically run plays, so RBs may be prevalent for kick returns.

Snead gets blasted a lot on here, but we as Rams fans really take him for granted, many even wanting him gone at various points.

But he is better than most GM’s and a lot of teams would snag him if the Rams ever fired him or he decided to move on.

We need to give him more credit than we normally do for what he has helped build since his tenure as GM.

Because, guys, we have live through and seen much worse from this franchise, and don’t want to go back to that.

That is indeed true, I'm a culprit here when it happens during the heat of the moment of the games. The guy has gotten us to a point where FA's want to come here and we've been competitive over the last decade so that's pretty good.

Saw a recent article regarding the positions the Rams should target in round 1.

DL, Edge and OT were the main ones.

Argument was made that Rams should take an Edge because the drop off after the top 4-5 edge rushers is much steeper than the drop off between the other positions.

I'd argue that the drop off for true LT is steeper. You could be down to Kiran by the Rams 2nd rounder.

When are they going to lock in Alaric?

Love Donald, but man, you need to keep your word.

Said before Rams gave him his last extension that he would play through 2024 season.

Maybe that's why he was telling the Rams to go Edge in the 1st?

The ShitferBrains and Mr Savior Complex are at it again.
Re-signing Reeder signals that these two draft idiots are going to ignore some good talent at inside LB in the draft and rely on their secondary with tons of bend-but-don't-break bullshit defense this year!

I doubt it. Reeder was mostly a special teams player last year, and I don't know why that would change. They still need those depth/ST guys, doesn't mean they won't pursue rotational and/or starter upgrades.

IMO they need a chase and coverage guy at the 2nd ILB, where that fits into their draft plan depends on how the draft board falls.

Yep, you adequately identified what we need but the prioritized approach in conjunction with how the board falls determines the motivation for selecting a given player. How long do you think a guy like Edgerrin Cooper will last before the twins would go get him? No one really knows. My point has been, that ILB is not a priority as much as other needs and the position has largely been ignored since we took Earnest Jones. ILB is an afterthought like when we waited until the 7th round to select Daniel Hardy a few years ago. What was the outcome of that board-determined selection?

Cooper will likely evade the Rams, as I believe he will be picked between the Rams' 1st and 2nd round picks. Payton Wilson is more likely to be there due to his injury history. Do the Rams look ILB at 52? I don't think so. I would think Edge, DT, and OT would all be priorities over ILB. Jones himself went at 103, which might be closer to when the Rams look at backers (pick 99 perhaps)? If not, the Rams don't have a 4th rounder, so you're looking at 154/155, which could put them out of the top 10 ILB in the draft. It just isn't lining up well if they don't use one of those 3rd rounders, unless they trade back and pick up a 4th rounder.

There are LB’s in the draft that would be just as useful in ST with more upside than Reeder.

That’s the problem. They keep resigning these retread guys that have no upside and little value.

For probably a 1 year 1m contract. Easy enough to cut if you draft a replacement.
