As for me, I grew up in the LA area = USC, Dad was from Massachusetts = Redsox, Celtics, and Bruins.
Cowboys was just luck of fate. As a wee boy Dad was watching Rams vs. Cowboys, he was a devout Rams hater, and bitching up a anti-Ram storm. I just assumed he liked the team with STARS on their helmets and became a fan.
