Rinne will start Thursday night and try to help Nashville extend its franchise-record home winning streak against the co-leading Anaheim Ducks, who'll begin a five-game trip.
Nashville (33-11-6) and Anaheim (33-12-6) were tied with 60 points atop the league standings on Jan. 13 when Rinne suffered a sprained knee during a 5-1 win over Vancouver.
That marked Rinne's 29th victory, which still leads the NHL despite his eight-game absence. His 1.96 goals-against average and .931 save percentage both rank second.
Rinne's return comes at the forefront of the initial three-to-five week recovery period, and he finds his team still tied with the Ducks with a game in hand.
"I feel really good," Rinne said. "I feel 100 percent and feel ready to go. It's never a good time to be injured, but I'm feeling good."
