B12 Don't really have a team I like enough to call a favorite. The whole conference is meh to me now that Nebraska is gone. I suppose I would say Texas when they arent winning big is my favorite. Their fans get over the top though when they are in contention for the BCS title.
B12 - Texas
ACC - GaTech (almost went to school there, got a soft spot for em)
B1G - Northwestern (wife is alumni)
PAC - Stanford or Oregon.......don't really have a fav here
SEC - no real fav here either. Bama is OK, and I'm originally from Georgia, but I don't really care who wins in the SEC, as long as it's not Aggy or Auburn
B1G Michigan Snakes University SEC Auburn (prettiest coeds in the NCAA Universe...and the Grand National GC is in Opelika.) ACC Clemson (sentimental favorite. 1978 Gator Bowl...Charlie Bauman took Woody Hayes' last punch.) PAC Oregon (for Mary W, my mother's best lifelong friend...an inveterate Duck to this day.) BIG12 Nebraska...no, wait. TAMU...no, wait. OK, I guess that leaves only OK.
I follow a lot of teams. I usually gravitate towards teams that are either outright losers or have been second fiddle to some other team for decades - unless they start winning a lot and then their fans become unbearable punkasses. Which has never happened to South Carolina, mind you!
If I had to pick absolute favorites:
SEC: Gamecocks, naturally, and I don't mind Vandy doing well
B1G: Badgers! Also like to see Northwestern doing well
ACC: the little guys, Wake Forest; and newcomer Syracuse since my wife is an alum
PAC: Cal-Berkeley; Wazzou; used to root for Oregon but they don't need my support any longer
Xii: Iowa State, Beller Bears (who also might not need me anymore)
Also have grown fond of Nebrasky lately, and wanted Mizzou to do well when they were in the Xii but now they done gone and got too good.
honestly: the two conferences are polar opposites in terms of their mentality.
the b10 is all about treating each member as an equal from northwestern to ohio state, they have the strongest commitment to academics and have a strong commitment to non-football sports. every school in the b10 is in some way worthy of its b10 bid, wether its athletics, market or academics. these schools have been together since 1896. no b10 school would ever take a LHN type deal. these schools were the first to share tier 3 with the btn network and they share gate revenue as well.
the b12 is pretty much a bunch of teams with no real connection to each other that all kinda got slapped together. it has very distinctive factions with the 4 swc schools, 5 b8 schools, & wvu. texas runs the show demanding special treatment. instead of helping each other through a conference network every team tries to stake its independent claim via a conference network. their academics are the worst of the p5 and they dont have a real commitment to non football sports. northwestern the smallest b10 school has more varsity sports than 9 b12 schools & ties oklahoma. thats right lil old northwestern the weakest school in the power 5 manages to field more sports than texas the strongest school in the power 5. the b12's academics are pretty much shit and you have schools like tcu & baylor who you cant really make a good argument as to why they deserve to be in. small religious schools with bad academics, bad athletics from a historical perspective, and no markets.
these two conferences are polar opposites. the b10 has a lot more in common with the sec than the b12
PAC 12 Washington State, as long as the pirate is there.
ACC Florida State
Least Favorite
Big 10 don't hate any yet. So far, Michigan fans have been the nastiest. When a MALE Michigan fan has to curse out a 14 year old girl that weighs 90 pounds because she is a Nebraska fan, does not show much class.
Big XII Texas Puppet Commssioner Dan Nero Beebe gladly putting his head up Bevo's ass at every opportunity. You know how Bevo was Castrated? Dan Nero Beebe hung from his nutsack so often they finally tore off. Danny did have a big smile and asked for seconds.
SEC Alabama Paul Bear Bryant chickened out in 1975 and did not want to play Nebraska in a bowl game.
PAC 12 USC but they are my favorite cheerleaders. TCU and Oregon cheerleaders right behind the USC cheerleaders.
ACC Miami Nevin Shapiro and Donna Shalala kissing in a tree. K I S S I N G.
