Not old enough to remember 1980, and it's already been used, but Miguel Cabrera's triple crown year in 2012 was, even if not the most valuable per WAR, the most entertaining year from a hitter I have seen.

How about a lucky 13 in 1908?

201 hits, 39 doubles, 19 triples, 109 RBI, 53 SB, .354/.415/.542, .957 OPS, 205 OPS+, 308 TB, 68 XBH, 260 times on base. All of them NL-leading.

The Dutchman only managed 2nd place in HRs and runs though.

I try to seperate old-times from new times. They both had greats, I just don't think the stats correlate. I think about 1935 is a good seperation point
