I have a 2011 Ford F150 2WD. In the morning when first driving, I hear a squeaking sound coming from the driver's side quarter panel. But once it warms up, it goes away. I hate to take it in for fear that some mechanic will be licking his chops ready to replace shocks, coils, springs, etc. Any of you truck experts out there experience anything like this? Steering is fine, I've had a front end alignment six months ago, and tires only have about 25000 miles. Thanks for any help.

Sounds like a shock problem.
Cold it squeaks.
Warm it goes away.

An upper shock mount would probably squeak all the time.
Same for a tie rod end bushing.

I suppose it could be a front coil rubber bushing.

Have you rocked your truck up and down on that front side when it's cold to try and duplicate the problem.
Might be able to track it down that way.

LOL....I have a brother-in-law that hates Fords with a passion, and the day I drove up in his driveway with my new truck, he just about had a fit. I was heatbroken....after driving a minivan for seven years, I had thought he would have run out and given me a nice man hug.

My money is that it is your shock bushings or the shock itself. Shouldn't be ball joints already and that should knock more than squeak. Could just be the coil spring seat, which not much you can do about that but maybe spray some silicone up in there.

I believe I found your problem :dhd:

Of course it's a Ford, he said 2011. You don't find 5 year old Chevy's outside of the junkyard.

This is the second Ford I've had, and the only issue I've ever had with a Ford vehicle. My first was a 1993 Ranger and at the time I had a pool business in So Cal. I drove that truck for 180K miles and never had an issue. I've always been religious about oil changes, tune ups, etc. I've had two Dodge vehicles--a Dakota and a Caravan--and both had electrical issues around 100K. It's no small coincidence that Ford trucks are #1 sellers in US.

Chevy's are for poor people. :dhd:

My 9+ year old Dodge 2500 is still strong as an ox & dependable as hell. It tows, hauls and plows like it did when it was new.

I used to have a friend that used to brag that he drove a Chevy because used parts were so easy to come by...
