Ex-Broncos RB Montee Ball sentenced to jail

Ex-Broncos RB Montee Ball was sentenced to 60 days in jail on Friday in his domestic abuse case.


It's been a far fall for the 2013 second-round pick. Ball was part of the Broncos' final cuts coming out of the preseason last year, spent close to two months in the Patriots' organization, but was cut in February after he was arrested following an altercation with his girlfriend. He was out on bail when Ball was found drinking at a bar, violating the terms of his bail. Ball will now serve two consecutive 30-day sentences. His playing career is over at 25 years old.

More drama: Tre Mason led police on ATV chase

Rams RB Tre Mason was charged with operating an ATV on public roads and fleeing officers after an incident on July 27 in Palm Beach, Florida.

Mason's bizarre offseason continues. Police were alerted that Mason was driving an ATV erratically in a public park. Mason, who was not wearing a helmet or any eye protection, soon led officers on a lengthy chase and locked himself in his home when police followed him to his house. After a long standoff, a family member eventually convinced Mason to come outside. This is Mason's sixth run-in with police in the last few months. He's currently on the Rams' reserve/DNR list and has likely played his last game for Los Angeles

Irvine, California, police arrested former Los Angeles Raiders quarterback Todd Marinovich on charges of trespassing and marijuana possession Friday... According to Irvine police Cmdr. Mike Hallinan, a caller alerted the department about a naked man walking along a trail. Officers allegedly found Marinovich holding a brown bag that contained marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Miller attempted to check into a hotel on Sunday. Told it was full, he returned Monday morning and seemingly randomly attacked the two men. This incident could cost Miller his roster spot.

Buccaneers waived TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins.

Cameron Brate and Luke Stocker will be the Bucs' tight ends the rest of the way. The 38th overall pick in the 2014 draft, Seferian-Jenkins was known to have drinking problems at the University of Washington and was popped for DUI on Friday morning, leading to his release. Some team will undoubtedly give the 24-year-old another chance, but Seferian-Jenkins will eventually face a suspension from the NFL. ASJ's loss is a blow to Jameis Winston's fantasy outlook. Seferian-Jenkins at least had potential, and the Bucs have gotten very little from their complementary pass catchers behind Mike Evans.
