I'd rather add another big OOC game and make it 8/2 instead of 9/1. Maybe even have a permanent OOC game?

I am all for that but only if the other conferences start conference play in the first 4 weeks of the season like the SEC does. Otherwise, I'll take my non-FCS, OOC bye in November.

Good point

Is there anyone that plays 5 conference games in November anyways??? Everyone gets a bye. I'm fine with Auburn playing Arkansas in August and Samford in November

maybe if bama didn't play the easiest conference schedule each year they would not want to play more in-conference games? :noidea:

So for 2 years we get a somewhat easy schedule, and suddenly it's "each year"?

I'd love to see Auburn play our 2010 schedule. When we had 6 SEC teams have a bye week before our game. That is over half the SEC(12 teams at the time) and 6 out of 8 SEC teams we played taking a bye the week before we played them.

Plus, this year we get Florida and they should be as shitty as last year. So our in conference schedule isn't the easiest this year either.

LOL at thinking shitty to average teams like Tennessee, Ole Miss, Mrs. State and SCAR having bye weeks before playing Bama in 2010 somehow made your easy schedule tougher that year. GMAFB......:L

Tell that to all the coaches and teams who asked for and scheduled the bye weeks before Alabama that it doesn't provide any benefit to them.

The SEC East was god awful that year. Hence the reason SCAR didn't even put up a fight against AU, getting raped and embarrassed 56-17 and then losing to FSU in their bowl game. I'll retrack, SCAR wasn't a shitty team, just average that year.

They had Auburn beat during the regular season that year and gave them that game. Also they beat Bama by 2 TDs. Far from shitty.

How do you figure they "had Auburn beat during the regular season"?
Are you sure they beat bama and it wasn't bama that beat bama?

Interesting coming from Saban. Having 9 conference games just seems right anyway. The match ups with big 5? Not so sure that would result in tough games. Alabama vs Iowa st or Washington st. And of course keep the sec tradition strong by refusing to play these teams on the road. Opt for home games or neutral site close to home. In all seriousness it sounds like an upgrade. Let's not forget Washington st gave national champ rubber up auburn all it wanted at home

Saying you're playing a shitty team isn't helping your point of a harder schedule one bit.
