Dude had 25 carries for 39 yards. I guess if that's a source for excitement, have at it. They'll need his blocking badly, replacing 4/5 OL.
His blocking skills are actually why I'm happy he stayed. He rarely got carries unless it was at the goal line, which is why he had so few yards but 13 TD's.

There is a lot of kicker and punter use too but they aren't leaving early to be drafted
I would bet more FB's get drafted on average than kickers. Because at least FB's have blocking potential in pro offenses.

Yeah that's what I figured. Are his blocking skills that good? How good will they be behind a brand new OL next year?

O-lineman are always hard to predict. I think it should be at least as good as this year, which wasn't all that great. There's a ton of talented kids but we should expect to be playing at least one or two sophomores on the line. It helps to have two pretty massive TE's to put in on running plays in Asiasi and Wheatly.

As far as Hurst goes, I saw a stat from pro-football focus that of all D-lineman who played more than 100 snaps, Hurst was tied for 1st in the percentage of rushes that applied QB pressure at 19%.

So far:
Clemson

    • QB Deshaun Watson
    • RB Wayne Gallman
    • WR Mike Williams
    • WR Artavis Scott

The worst of that is, obviously, losing Deshaun. The others, while they were good, will be replaced with minimal fall off. We have a stable of RB's that can fill Gallman's shoes. No offense to Gallman, he was great, but we have 2 others ready to step in and play, and several others that would be serviceable, if needed. At first glance, Mike Williams would seem to be a huge loss, but not so much. He was great, but we have guys behind him that will be just as good, if not better. Our WR corp is outstanding from top to bottom. Tay Scott is another great wr, but we have guys that will step right up and fill his shoes. We lose a lot of snaps and experience with those guys, but we will reload, with the exception of Watson. I'm hoping for one of our young QB's to step up and take charge, much like Hurts did for Bama.

Out of all the kids that we are losing, I think the biggest loss will be Budda Baker. The guy was the team's heart playing Center fielder.
