I'm not surprised at all George re-signed with OKC. I am however VERY surprised at the contract. 4 yrs, max money. Would have sworn it would have been a 2 year deal so he would re-enter free agency to get that 10 year vet pay bump. And if you're gonna take a long deal for the guaranteed cash, why not just take the full 5? That's crazy. But at least OKC not scared to pay the luxury tax anymore.
Well, if he was going to stay, getting the max would have to be a big reason why. It's not always about the money. But sometimes it's about the money.I was wrong.
I remember arguing with Laker fans here last year that you can't assume that a player is going to come just because he says he wants to a year in advance.
Magic got snookered. He thought he could avoid giving up assets and just get PG in FA this year He was mistaken. Wonder if he'll roll the dice with Leonard as well?

me too
it would give the Cavs an inkling of hope you would think.
I am still not convinced LEBron goes there if the Lakers cant get George, Leonard or CP3. If he goes there by himself and 2 weeks after he is there they still dont have a star i would be very surprised.
as is i think George and LeBron are both going to La.
I was wrong about this one.
Scared money don't make noneI think everyone outside of OKC was wrong. I assumed that the 1st round exit was the nail in the coffin. Have to admit, Presti's a wizard.
Scared money don't make none
4 year $137 million dollar agreement at first moment free agency started.
OKC got Westbrook, George, and Steven Adams wrapped up for the next 4 years.
Straight and proper Presti dropped that quote in a speech last week. Somebody give that man a raise already.

#1: Why would Memo stretch and set himself up to be waived? I dont see any benefit for him in that scenario.
#2: Even with PG they are still an upper 40 to low 50 win team. It is a big W to get PG back but they still are not in the range of the Warriors or Rockets.
#3: If LeBron wants another championship then it appears LA is not the answer as SA looks like they don't want what they have to offer for Leonard. Philly for James anyone? Maybe Boston somehow? Other?
