They will try but how effective is the tactic in this case. Only Russell Wilson and Matt Ryan are making more but are ranked below him. I don’t think you can use those two names because nobody would want them at their salaries, especially the teams they are on.

That's why I said you don't have to pay him. The next 4 weeks likely determines how much leverage Taylor n his agent end up with.

That 19mill figure is a tad outrageous though.

Perhaps, but let's says he scoffs at that. What do you do? Cut him? Try n make a trade happen? Keep Wentz n his undeserved salary? Cut Wentz? Make Howell the Starter? What if Taylor goes 3-1 or 4-0 over the next 4 games. You were just touting his W/L record in this or another thread.

He is a UFA so cutting or trading is out . You have to find a new qb

You absolutely cut wentz. His salary is way too high. He will clear waivers, as no one wants that contract. Then you resign him to back up money.
