Despres has been great this game. I think he's looked really good since his callup.

Niskanen and Engelland should be the odd men out when Martin and Scuderi return, in my opinion.

Depending on what happens to Vokoun, I could see Niskanen being bundled up in a trade for a backup if need be. That is all dependent on Scuds and Martin returning to health, plus Maatta and Despres need to stay healthy and continue to play well.

In any case, it is nice to see Despres asserting himself well since his recall.

Isles played a decent game other than the 3rd. I feel bad for Tavares. Have always liked him and he is stuck on a bad team. I really don't understand how the Isles big wigs can find a way to destroy this team after every good year that comes around? I thought they had a great chance at the playoffs again coming into the season with more experience and speed.

Maybe Vanek is bad luck?

Gonna disagree with Nisky going out of the lineup. If anyone deserves to sit it's Letang. I think once healthy there'll be a trade though.

Letang's upside is too high. Nisky's looked bad and doesn't have Letang's upside.

I think Letang will lock it down soon, before Scuds and Paul-Mart get back. Of course, if they want to maximize the return in a trade, Letang would bring back a good haul. Maybe a true #1 goaltender, for example, depending on the trade partner and other players involved in the trade.

Bad luck has nothing to do with a shitty defense and a bunch of shitty goaltenders - Thomas Vanek has nothing to do with this teams failure - he's not the solution to this team but he's not the failure

The Pens aren't bringing in another goalie. That much I'm certain of. I'd be all for trading Letang. He's been a liability back there for a lot of the year.
