yeah I guess not. They would have to re-schedule for later in the year? Or do they just go with one less game on the schedule?

Just checked the schedules, there is no overlap in bye weeks. Rescheduling would be next to impossible.

You'd have to think they'd just play it at Happy Valley even if there's no fans just to get the game played. Having one less game would really not be good for either team.

Seeing how we may still be ineligible for a bowl and they have no CCG maybe at the end of the season?

No fans in Happy Valley? Are you high?

You know we'll be eligible. :yahoo:

And if they've accepted a bowl invite towards the end of the season based on conference finish, they will have no incentive to play. I can't see them sitting at 5 or 6 wins, where it might make a difference.

I figured that was one of the logistical items you were talking about. I don't mean that no one would want to go, I just meant that they don't even have tickets at this point so I'm not sure if they would be able to print/distribute them in a week's time. I work in a college athletic department and getting tickets to people is a bitch.

For over 100k people? Yeah, that'd go smoothly

Not saying that they shouldn't give it a shot, I fully think they should try to do something like that. You're the one that said it wouldn't be done because of logistics.

whatever, hopefully they'll get to play.

I know our AD was talking this summer about a OOC game with USC in Mexico. IMO, what a bunch of horseshit. Just play the games in this country please, preferably a home/home.

I just can't see the purpose of that. I understand Penn State trying to do something as a reward for their players, but that's kind of a unique set of circumstances. I don't see anyone benefitting from playing in Mexico. I guess hoping they'll turn into Longhorn fans once they come across the border? :noidea:

If ESPN tells them to play, they will play. ESPN calls all of the shots in college football.

Not saying they'd get 100,000 on short notice but there would be quite a few. Either way, if it's cancelled it won't be played next weekend.

I have no doubt they could get close to it...PSU is similar to Nebraska in that. I'm not sure when they'd do it if not this weekend.

My guess is that if they have to reschedule, it will be much like the Nicholls State/Oregon State game in that was postponed do to Hurricane Isaac in 2012. They will make it up at the end ofthe season if they can't play as currently scheduled.

But basically, if ABC/ESPN can make a few $$$ off of it, the game will be played somehow. Don't piss off the mouse.
