Penn St @ Nebraska 2012 Game Week Thread

Two things I could consider why they like NU so much.

1. Huskers have played a tougher conference schedule.
2. Huskers are due to play a relatively clean game.

Clean game? What's that?


We have been due for a clean game so damn long that I can't remember the last time we had one of them

I'm sticking w/ 27-24 Huskers.

I figure Nebraska has averaged about 28ppg offense against BCS AQ's despite the turnovers and against defenses similar to Penn St's.

I give Penn St the 24 wearing rose colored glasses (Husker D gives up 28ppg against BCS AQ's) in that they also average 28ppg offense but not against as good of pass defenses as NU's. I'm spotting Penn St 10 pts on either turnovers or shanked punts.

If we punt instead of going for 4th downs, we'd return the favor on shanked punts. Looks like Jordan hill will be out, baring a miraculous change in his status. Kyle Carter will play, which is a HUGE boost to the offense. I like your score, but I'd flip a coin as to who will win, like I said before neither team winning would surprise me. Losing Hill will hurt us big in the middle of the DL though.

Looks like nice temperatures for my friends who made the trip. I'm sure they'll have fun, wish I wee on my way to Lincoln now. Everyone tells me its a road trip I have to make as they get treated very well.

But it has Penn State winning 27-24.

That has "turnovers" written all over it.

PSU is a damn good team. Between McGloin's brains, their causing turnovers and going for it on fourth this could be very ugly. The only area I have confidence in Nebraska is the secondary but we can have absolutely no missed coverage there either.


We have got to play good fundamentals or it will be Ohio State all over again.

There's a phrase you'd never have seen used in a positive sense before this season on any PSU board. O'Brien has done an amazing job with McGloin, I'll be the first to admit I wanted anyone but him to win the job this year, bu t he's proven me wrong every game since the opener where he missed severeal WIDE open guys and left about 35 points on the field in first half.

I have confidence in NU's running game. They're proven to be consistent and if NU can keep the game close going into the 4th Q, they'll be in good position to win.

O'brain is a very smart fella.... PSU has nothing to lose except in the win/loss columns. There's no bowl-no ccg-no nothin' after the season. Why not take chances in games? He confident in his defense, I think anything less than 4th & 6: he goes for it, short field or not.

I honestly don't think we will. The Michigan game was the hurdle. But this Penn state game is the trap game. We will probably get hit in the mouth but the fans will keep us in it. I think this team knows what's at hand we get passed Penn state and the it really down hill from here
