Pens had a meh week last week IMO. Beating the Bruins & Maple leafs was good, but struggling against the Hurricanes makes the Doobster question the legitimacy of the team's title contention hopes.

This week we got 3 home games.

Tuesday, December 2nd vs the New Jersey Devils: Devils are struggling on defense right now, last time the 2 teams played the Pens scored 8 goals on them.

Thursday, December 4th vs the Vancouver Canucks: Canucks have been a surprise team so far, but the Pens have traditionally done well against Ryan Miller so hopefully that trend continues.

Saturday, December 6th vs the Ottawa Senators: really don't know what to say about the Senators. Generally a mediocre team but do things like the Hurricanes which proved frustrating for our beloved Pens.

I expect either a 2-1 or 3-0 week this week, only team that concerns me are the Canucks.

Hopefully the home & home set was just a result of the team eating too much turkey on Thanksgiving. Really hope to see Sid & the power play return to form.

LETS GO PENS!

One more thought from playing the Canes. If they played against Toronto the way they played against Pittsburgh on Friday, I can understand how they put up 9 goals. Those guys can play hockey.

This team misses Duper and a stand out defender. The D is meh, Erhoff is puke, Skid is not the best player in the league, or on the team. My favorite players right now, sans Duper, are Sutter and Horny...Malkin is a distant 3rd

Hurricanes played us well on Friday's game but Pens played rather shitty as well. I was left rather disappointed after both games to be honest.

Geno, Hornqvist, Sutter, Comeau > Skid

Road record: 6-8-1
Last 10: 3-5-2
Streak: -1
GFA: 2.38
GAA: 2.83
PP%: 20.6%
PK%: 74.7%
Projected roster: NHL Starting Goalies and Line Combinations | DailyFaceoff.com

Pittsburgh Penguins
Overall record: 16-5-2 (34 points)
Home record: 7-3-1
Last 10: 6-3-1
Streak: +1
GFA: 3.44
GAA: 2.35
PP%: 31.6%
PK%: 84.2%
Projected roster: NHL Starting Goalies and Line Combinations | DailyFaceoff.com

Series notes
All-time: Devils lead series 107-90-3 with 17 ties
Last season: Series tied 2-2
This season: Pens lead series 1-0
Last meeting: 10-28-2014 @ CONSOL Energy Center, Pens won 8-3

Doob's take: Devils are struggling, especially on defense, hopefully the Pens' offense will take advantage. At the same time, nothing is for certain. Hurricanes are struggling big time and they were able to give us a lot of problems. Still tho, Doob picks the Pens to win 5-3.

Picking Skid to get a goal & 2 assists tonight :hope:

Hitting the eggnog a little early Doobster?

I'm not going to be too harsh on Sid, because the last guy that I really went after was Letang. It turned out he had a stroke, which definitely took him off his game. Made me feel like kitty litter when it came out. Might be something going on with Sid, might be personal, might be physical, but he hasn't been playing hard except for minor bursts since the Columbus series last year.

I have hope in our PP against the Devils' PK :hope:

So Crosby and Bortuzzo might not be in the lineup this evening against the Devs. Already going to be without Goc, Letang and Bennett. Might not be a good night against Jersey tonight.

It could still be alright. The Devils are having some troubles of their own. Even so, that's a lot of guys to be without. And our fourth line is terrifyingly terrible.

Just watch, there will be some message about Skid's wrist or some other injury to explain Novembers' suckitude

Word is he and Bobby Bortuzzo are both sick. They played the Rangers a few weeks ago, and it has just been announced that former Penguin Tanner Glass has been diagnosed with the mumps.

Hoping that Sid and Bobby haven't contracted that:pray:

It wouldn't surprise me. It's kind of making its rounds in the NHL right now.

Bortuzzo just decked Jagr. I think he got away with interference, though. Otherwise looked largely clean on the first look.

4-on-2, the Pens ran it well, but Schneider somehow found the puck through traffic to make a good blocker save on Malkin.

Crosby on the 2-on-1, the pass was taken away, and Schneider gave him the 5-hole, but took it away quickly with the stick at the last second. Couple close calls late in the second.
