OT: Russian sanction

According to CNN and Fox News Channels, Obama and congress are thinking about revoking or changing the "nature" of working visas for Russians.
That will affect the NHL, but only partly. If the US makes the changes but Canada does not, does that mean that the Canadian teams get keep the Russian ayers while the US teams do not?
If passed will this even effect the NHL?
Just wondering. Puck, what do you know how this would work?

It wont affect nhl at all. It will only really affect student and tourist visas. Nhl players have permant visas which gives them rights the others dont.
This is just a bunch of talk. If the US and Europe wanted to really get Russia they would freeze their ability to buy oil buy locking out of the oil escrow accounts

Correct, NHL players aren't really going to be affected. Russians who may have been drafted a few years ago and may be headed to the NHL starting next season might have some extra paperwork but this won't be a problem in the NHL. It shouldn't anyway, it's a work visa.

There's lots of ways to sanction the Russians, but the difference between Putin and Barry is Putin has balls the size of a horse.

Obama is a hot air talking pussy and they know the US won't do much if anything at all. That's a big reason why Putin went forward with the occupation, he knows the US will give hand slap warnings. Our foreign policy is a joke and the rest of the world laughs at us for the most part.
