Is any body on here watching this Tourney? Or am I the only one that likes this sport enough to watch it! IMO this sport is just as exciting as hockey at times. Although professional is a lot crazier I love the NCAA tourney and watch it every year! I am rooting for Cornell this year!:D

Nice to see you back SuperFlyer13. I've watched a couple games so far and found them to be very entertaining. I'll probably watch them through the championship

did you watch the NLL final Saturday night? i thought it was entertaining stuff

I get the impression that Boxla isnt close to as popular as field lacrosse is in the US, right?

is this field lacrosse, or played in hockey rinks?
I prefer the smaller game.

Up here it was basically tradition... hockey in the winter, lacrosse in the summer.

edit... or what jstew said.

If by Boxla you mean indoor LaCrosse, I watch it professionally- Colorado Mammoth) and yes it is fun and exciting. The very first Mammoth game I went to featured an opening 10 minutes worth of a bench clearing brawl!

I read a great story on deadspin about the culture of lacrosse (ie field lacrosse in the states). It talked about the stereotypes that are actually truths ... a sport played by rich preppy kids who are born into entitlement

Its so amazing how night and day different the box lacrosse culture is from this ... and it somewhat parallels the culture of hockey in canada versus the US

Yeah, I'll watch a few games. Certainly I'll watch the championship game. I definitely prefer field lax to box lax, though.

I went to and enjoyed numerous Baltimore Thunder games in my late teens and early 20s.

Luckily, I got to see the Detroit Turbos (which I think was NLL but not sure) when they had both Gait brothers and have both their autographs. That was so much fun watching them play.
The league then awarded them to the worst team in the league and then they starting winning the championship. Turbos moved a few years after the Gait brothers were forced to move.

Vancouver had a box lacrosse team called the Vancouver Ravens back in 90's ... I dont even remember if the league was called NLL back then

this is a box lacrosse hotbed (I think i heard half of the championship Washington Stealth are from either Vancouver or Victoria, BC) but the Ravens folded because their ticket prices were $20 per while all you had to do is wait a month for the summer and the start of the local Western Lacrosse Association season where you could see the exact same local guys play for $5 a ticket
