O's vs Tigers Division Series Thread

Agreed I know there's 4 games with 2 on the east coast and 2 on the west coast but why can't they just stagger the starting times. Like O's 4:30 Nats 6:30 LA 9:30 LA 10:30 or something.

Gotta imagine it's all due to TV contracts

I think the 12 pm game is tomorrow.

I wish Tillman could have thrown inside about 8 pitches before he actually did. I would have figured as much as Kinsler was fouling off either in the middle or outer part of the plate, he would have tried it quicker than 13 pitches into the at bat.

Hell of a game last night. I was there and the energy was abundant in the crowd, such an amazing time and amazing win for my first postseason O's game

lmao in 71 games zach has given up all his er in 7 games 2 was yankees 1 to a's didn't throw over the as break . jays , red sox , cards and brewers . in 37 of 71 was no hit . that is pretty good

Couple items of note for me from last nights game:


1. Joseph not getting the start
2. Manny first pitch to Weiters (pretty darn cool and Buck's idea I'm sure)
3. Is it just me or are the TBS announcers just dreadful?
4. For all the talk about OPACY being a hitter friendly park and how many HR's the
Tigers and Miggy would have if they played there, seems it didn't work out that way.
5. Can we just stop talking about how the AL East is not what it once was. Last I checked,
the Red Sox won the World Series last year. The only reason this is continually brought up
is because no one except the Orioles from that division made the Post Season.
6. The MLB network analyst (DeRosa) talk about how Sherzer should have been able to
manipulate his way through a rather weak O's line up. Apparently he doesn't know the
ability of guys like DeAza, Pearce or Schoop to name a few.
7. Jones wore the HALO last night. Hopefully he contributes today.
8. How can you not discount Cruz for POY?
9. I can honestly say I did not realize how bad the Tigers BP was. Joba, really? Coke?
10. Never under estimate the value Buck brings to the table. Once again he out managed
the opponents manager.

Chen was okay in the 2nd half of the season... but even then, I would consider him as the #3 starter on this team.

Really, the optimal postseason rotation from the standpoint of ERA and WHIP would be Gonzalez - Tillman - Chen - Norris. If platoon splits are taken into account, a possible rotation order might be Gausman - Tillman - Gonzalez - Chen if you look at OPS vs. right.

(Curiously, this is one example where the "4-1-2-3" tactic might work: Just imagine starting Chen in Game 1 instead. Assuming that the offense stays the same, we would probably still have won...?)

Correction: Totally forgot about Norris. In fact, one could make a case for skipping Chen altogether for this series since his OPS against vs. right is the worst among the team's 6 starters (which is unfortunate but not unexpected since he's the only lefty in the group).

Then again... the game is far from over, and I still see this team winning the series in 5 games (maybe even 4).
