I agree that the random fluctuations in a player's performance can be quite extreme... if anything, Chen and Gonzalez had also struggled this weekend (with Chen having his worst start in 2 years in terms of earned runs), and the results can be partially be attributed to the Tiger's offense (4th in the MLB in terms of OPS).

But Jimenez was still our worst starter in July, and that time frame does not even include today's game. Add that to his track record from 2014, and you can see why I'm starting to wonder if Jimenez is falling back to earth again... hence the "should have sold high" overreaction.

(I'm not saying that Jimenez needs to be removed from the rotation permanently, though... skipping one start should be enough for now, if only for the purpose of giving him more time to calm down after the recent slump.)

as we start the west coast trip we are 1 game back with the twins they are down 3-1 in the 7th vs blue jays . the angels are 2 games ahead of the o's and we have 3 games coming this weekend . 6 back of the yankees they have the day off . come on tyler wilson let's go o's . doyle is starting tonight for the tides he is having a great year for bowie pitcher.

I think the Twins will continue to fall off. Hopefully the Angels start to as well. I don't know if we can ever catch the Yankees their offense has been killing it. Toronto should be the team to watch out for. Really got 3-4 teams fighting for the 2 wild cards. The 2nd place team in the west, twins, jays, and O's.

the ump got under chens skin . it was 2 different strikezones . hey nolan would have had 2 homers at the yard and his single was on a really good pitch . go nolan take over lf .

O's need Jonesy to get back on track tonight with the bat. If he can start hitting again, O's take this series. Gausman needs to keep throwin' gas by everyone and go 7 innings. I still like Wieters at first and Joseph at home. Gives O's more power at 1st. Take Flaherty out unless you need him at 2nd.
