It's opening day of fall practice! Everyone's favorite team is undefeated and hopes are high. Any news, new players, new coaches, deficiencies that need to be addressed, strengths of the team...whatever you got. Throw it down and let the rest of us hear about it.

I'll kick it off with some news from Texas' opening practice. Of course there's not much you can tell from day 1, players are in shorts running around and at least here in Austin, sweating like sweat hogs. I'll throw in some stuff from local reporters:

Reports were Swoops and Buechelle worked with the first team, Jerrod Heard with third team.

Said the QBs were on and off. So so day.

As for just the appearance of the team, word is they are the best 'looking' team Texas has fielded in a long time. Very athletic and very large. Added 12 300 pounders this freshman class, and none of them are fat 300 pounds.

Looks like Samia, true freshman that replaced St . John at tackle after the Texas game, will be moving to guard.

Freshman Adams seems to be turning some heads. Given those monsters in the backfield though, can't see him getting the ball much.

Stoops says frosh LBs Caleb Kelly, Mark Jackson Jr & Jon Michael-Terry 'are exactly what you want'. (Should be a solid group).

Expecting true freshman Kelly to see a lot of playing time, likely from game 1.

already in pads? Did they start last week, get their 'in shorts' days done.

Not sure if Texas is in pads tomorrow, or another day in shorts.

For whatever reason, Harbaugh goes into lockdown during summer camp. It's odd -- the dude that's responsible for every headline 11 months out of the year, won't talk to the media beyond yesterday. There haven't been hardly any leaks from practice today and I expect that's kind of how it will be until September. All I have to point out is that one of our offensive lineman, Michael Onwenu, showed up to camp weighing 350 POUNDS....and that's down 17 pounds from when he was a recruit.

Huskies with the number #1 D in the PAC last year could be even better this year. The depth at DB is insane.
They already look like where they took off from last year in practice today. Music to this Dawgs ears.

6'7 freshman QB Cole Kelley has been a media favorite so far lol. Drawn comparisons to Ryan Mallett wearing #15. A little surprising he's garnered more headlines than Ricky Town or Ty Storey who should be ahead of him on the depth chart but the coaches really like him for the future.

Still trying to reshuffle the OL and figure out the best starting 5. Defensive line has been winning the majority of the battles so far.

The wide receiver group has been great as expected. Of course it's hard to tell if the secondary has improved any because of that with new position coach Paul Rhodes there now. Hard to tell much else since we haven't had a scrimmage yet.
