For more TDs in one season than Blake Bortles..... Let that sink in. Brady , Brees, Rodgers, Luck, Stafford, Ryan .... That's it. That's the list

Still you'd think more than 6... Not Eli, not Palmer, not Rivers, not Wilson, not Cam, not Big Ben. That shocked me

Well Eli, Cam, and Palmer have thrown as many as Bortles, just not more than.

A perfect example of why you should watch the games and not use stats to determine talent...

The thing I struggle with is I am a huge Blake Bortles guy. I honestly think the guy is a decent QB and I'll defend him til I can't anymore and I think I've reached that point, unfortunately. :-(

Vs 18 INT's. Throwing for that many TD's isn't that hard when it's against a prevent defense....

Hes very Jay Cutler ish to me. If he was on a good team he would be Colin Kaepernick. Until the team sucks again then hes Blake Bortles again.

Man I don't know. 35 is a lot and if it were that easy you'd think a lot more guys would've . Of the 6 guys who have beaten it 3 have only beaten it one time in their entire careers.

My instinct at the beginning of the year was that last year was a bad year and now that they probably have a decent running game, they wouldn't have to rely on throwing the ball as much. But idk, I'm still holding out hope for Bortles to be good this year.

I like Cutler more than Bortles. Cutler's team has advanced to an NFC title game.

Bortles teams haven't sniffed the playoffs.

To clarify this is not a " bortles is good" thread . I'm just wondering if people are bailing on him too early . There's a litany of guys in the HOF who had worse starts to their career than Bortles. Seems like people are throwing in the towel really quick for what the guy has actually done

Eh, IDK if that's a fair comparison. That Bears defense had Peppers, Urlacher, Briggs and Charles Tillman. Cutler had 23 TDs and 16 INTs. That's not that impressive. That Bears playoff run in 2010 was NOT due to Cutler, but that Bears defense.

35 isn't easy, but Ryan Fitzpatrick threw 31, Derek Anderson threw 29, Matt Schaub threw 29. A couple circumstances go their way and they could have gotten 35.

2 of those 35 came against the Patriots after they were down 30-3
1 came against the Bucs in the final 1:05 when they were down 2 TDs
1 came against the Texans in the final 4 minutes down by 17
1 came against the Jets in the final 2 minutes down 12
1 came against the Chargers in the final 1:20 down 12
1 came against the Saints in the final 1:20 down 19

20% of his TDs were useless
