I don't think Nashville's ever broken the top 20 in league attendance. For a team that's made the playoffs in 9 of the past 12 years, that's rather shit.

Shouldn't we be looking at percent capacity filled rather than actual butts in seats - Looks like Bridgestone Arena is on the smaller side at 17,147 seats but Preds fans are filling it to 100.2 percent capacity (at least this season).

I assume you are talking about percentage? Currently, they are 8th. Last year, they were 15th at a meager 99.2%.

It's been better in the last few years, and maybe it stays like that.

But if they miss the playoffs this year, do they fall back toward the low 90's like they were only 5 years ago?

Economic downturn in Calgary has certainly impacted attendance - 96.3% is still pretty good, but the days of sellouts have gone the way of the do-do.

They've made the playoffs once this decade.

Shit, I think even the Leafs finally stopped selling out at some point a couple years ago (even if 1/4 of the ACC would be empty sometimes). It happens.

And they get ripped even more when they do - Boston and Chicago's ghost towns 15 years ago are still brought up when talking about how those teams were "revived".

03-04 hawks did not fall to "low 90's" capacity ... from that link they were at 67% capacity which is and was brutal ... anyone at that % is gonna get ripped a new one ... but low 90's ... caman!

Boston averaged about 87% attendance in the early 2000's.

I shouldn't have used Chicago because the Dollar Bill effect was very real, but people shit on Boston attendance for years and it wasn't much worse than low 90s.

Anyway, maybe if they had inserted Mountain Dew-sponsored ticket packages in their trade notices they would've bumped it up.

I dont ever recall boston getting the same stick for their decrease in attendance that Chicago got ... but then i do recall the dislike that there was similar to Dollar Bill at the end for Sinden and Jeremy Jacobs excessively priced hot dogs and beer lol (who was that espn plorster @dash ????? - lol)

anyways ... when/if Smashville hits the 60 to 70% capacity that Sunrise, Glendale, Islanders, Canes and Bhawks looked at in the past, ill call that shit

This

I will cut BBB some slack though, its Friday, and he is probably peeved that Gnash >> Carlton :D

(Is Carlton still a thing in T.O.?)

Seriously though, Nashville right now has a loyal fan base that is doing a good job of showing up. Are there 100 fans for every one that goes to a game (like TML)? Not a chance. But enough to support the team for now. And as said earlier, a bigger fanbase then Carolina, Florida and Phoenix. And maybe Vegas.

OK, I am going to stop here, but the Preds twitter feed is one of the better ones in the league.

OK just one more

And how can you hate on a team that can get you free coffee?

its a good sign they can get the corporate support

what does glendale have? Toms Toilet seat supply? and they probably jumped ship when the urinals were getting repossessed

We would be remiss not to mention posters WestEndVol and UTVol, two Preds fans that provide some awesome pics of the fans at Bridgestone Arena.

the thing about it though, is Ive heard alot of people compare Nashville to a very mini vegas in the sense there is alot to do and is somewhat of a destination city
