If they finished top 30 last year, a player is required to show up to all 8 of the masters 1000 tournaments and all 4 majors unless they meet certain milestones (age, number of matches, number of years on tour).

If they skip any of the mandatory tournaments without an exemption, it counts against them for ranking points.

so far, all the top 10 men are playing Miami, and except for Vika, all top 10 women will also be playing Miami! This should be great for the next 2 wks!

Even though I'm not a Rafa fan, I would like to see him play better and get far enough to match-up with a top 15 player and lose.

wow, the draw is out already! Poor Pova, she and Ree are in the top half! Vee and Serena can only play if they both reach the final! Serena's 1st match will be between the winner of Schiavone vs Shvedova!
