Waiver order is messed up

I was ahead of Molsan and Sam when the week started.

Molsan and I both made 2 claims, but somehow he jumped ahead of me on the 2nd 1?

He didn’t take my guy, so no issue there, but I should be ahead of him for next time.

And it might matter there.
Well that's OK as I screwed the pooch and looked at the wrong week...........Congrats on 5-1, I had no shot to beat you this week so thought I was grabbing guise fer a different week, but do not want to be churnin in this league so it is what it is.

I have you at 10, Molsan at 11, and Sam at 12 for when we start it next week.

Not sure what it's doing with the second time through, but say you and Molsan both request Players A, B and C. You should get A the first time through and Molsan should get B, but you should be up next time around and snag C.

If it looks like that's not happening let me know.

Update: I see - it was treating waivers as serpentine. I’ll make sure it’s non-serpentine.

Half the league hasn't set their lineups, and I know weekends have been confusing with the changes, and I haven't done a good job letting people know where we are.

If there are no objections we'll run the Week 6 games and waivers tomorrow (Sunday) at the usual time.

Ooh.

That is awful for me.

Not going to be able to set my waivers unless games run earlier.

Going to be out from 6:30 - about 9

Honestly, the problem is that quite a few teams aren’t really playing.

Pretty sure nobody would object if we run them at 10 pm ET instead…?

I'm on vacation in Colorado right now so it doesn't matter to me when you run them.

I'm somewhat guilty, although I have made an effort. I didn't realize that there would be so much to do after the draft, to be honest.

Can’t we do earlier?

Keep waivers the same, but play the game at like 5.

Game should already be done anyway. And IMO, at least 4-5 teams aren’t trying anyway.

So yeah, I'm actually kinda diggin this league but I wonder if there is a way to set it up as Best Ball, but still have trades and the wire?

that would be awesome. Which is essentially taking some work out of what we would be doing anyways.

This time through is kind of to test the concept of the league.

I’m happy to follow molsan’s suggestion and set it up to run waivers the following night. Means no trade period this week. I know you all live for the trades in this league but maybe we could live without them just this once?

(Without trades, we could simply have waivers at 8 pm ET on M/W/F and games at 8 pm ET on T/Th/Sat.)

only way to do that is make alot of work for wil

i think the 2 hour window (7-9 pm) between line up set and WW is what makes it tough to do
need a day between:suds:

There are also scenarios where you might want to lose - to get a better playoff matchup for yourself, or to let your opponent push somebody else out of a bye.

Okay - for this next matchup, games will run on Sunday at 7 pm ET and waivers the next day at 9 pm ET.

I'm generally allergic to changing things in flight, but this being kind of a beta test, I propose that we drop the trade concept and give waivers their own day for the rest of the season.

But somebody might have built trades into their plans, so one single vote by Tuesday noon will be enough for us to return to the schedule that includes trading periods.

I only started thinking about this a couple days ago in looking at the lay of the land: My thoughts are here it is much harder to empathize with what another manager might find desirable in a trade compared to typical leagues. You would have to do some tedious work poring over the upcoming schedules of others just to avoid ideas likely to be non-starters for anyone paying attention (noting some in this league optimized what they were trying to do as far as roster construction goes in looking ahead during the draft). One of the easiest ways to get something off the ground would be if someone took the initiative of saying, "I need help in this specific area, I could stand to bolster this position(s) for week(s) such and such." If one does that publicly, it might tip off future opponents into planning ahead to counter if they can so maybe there is a disincentive going on. And hashing trades out privately is of course verboten.

My personal plans were to avoid considering trades, barring the unexpected, until right before the latest possible date. Based on how this has gone, I am less likely to be interested now than I was at the conclusion of the draft. I guess there is still part of me that would not like to see the baby thrown out with the bathwater, not on behalf of myself, on behalf of the idea of there being a window in which trades could be made before a deadline, late in the season when there is less of a future schedule to look at. On the other hand, I also thought from the beginning that a late deadline deal going down might lead to a possibility of a 3rd party feeling screwed over from its effects.
