I know, I was reading the comments posted on TSN and from what I saw there is no sense for the other countries to even bother sending a team.

Don't get me wrong I love my Canadian cousins and have said before I have a lot of Canadian blood in me from mom's side but damn..."Lets show the world this is OUR game". "Hockey is Canada's game and we will prove it". "Lets see if they can beat our Canadian boys, this is OUR game". I have no problem with being protective almost to the point of paranoia but I recall watching a commentator on CTV back when the USA sent the basketball "Dream Team" to the Olympics going nut's with crap like. Ok they're good so what's the point of rubbing it in other countries face by sending the best. HUH. OK, but it sounds like a double standard to me.

a few of potential problems:
- Canadian team reads those press clippings and the intensity never gets ramped up to where it needs to be
- especially with the relatively soft Group, could be in for a surprise in the 1/4s against a battle hardened team
- Sweden, USA, Russia will also be fielding pretty damned strong teams (maybe Finland too)
- a tourney this short, the goalie can steal the show. While the CDN goalies are all good, I don't see that otherworldly level that some of the others have reached recently (Quick / Rask / Lundqvist)

should be some amazing hockey though!
