That game was nuts. Cards gave up 5 in the first and then bottom of the first got a grand slam. Im thinking having a pitcher intentionally walk a guy to load the bases only to have the next guy hit a grand slam is the baseball equivalent of getting dunked on.

The Cardinals have been winning a lot of good games lately

I was anchored to that game and flipping to the Padres in between. The Cubs pen was laughably bad. Cards lose their ace and rocket to the best record in the league. Soooooo freaking typical. :gaah:

It's good and only getting better.

Well, the Rangers won a pitching duel against the 'stro's. That qualifies as monumental. That may be the season long highlight for them.

The Sox seem to be a bag of shit.:noidea:

I really like Craig Counsell but why does he have to look like "Robot Ron" Roenike's son? Dude still looks the same as he did when he played for the '97 Marlins - kind of like Norman Bates in a baseball uni minus the murdering and taxidermy.

Isn't this right around the time last year the Sox lost ten in a row basically sealing their fate? (yeah I know they won 7 in a row right afterwards, but this feels familiar).

That was a badly managed baseball game by Girardi last night. Nursing a 1 run lead in the 8th inning, you have a starter who is breezing along with 90 pitches and the best 1-2 punch in the bullpen. So what does he do? He brings in a middle reliever to start the 8th. What happens? The middle reliever gets into trouble. Then he brings in Betances who gives up the lead on a jam shot. Either keep the starter in the game or bring in your best relievers to preserve a one run lead against a division rival.

Ask the Mets about their recent 11-game win streak. I think they're going to put a banner up in right field to commemorate the occasion.

I'm not greedy, but it would be nice to at least finish middle of the pack this year. Feast or famine with this team.

"i have an idea. lets put a defensively challenged SS in LF to play with a 40 foot wall. He should be able to pick up the position quickly."
