Does anyone know what the rule on clock stoppage is in College Football. With about 40 seconds left Alabama was trying to run down the clock to end the game. As they lined up with about 3 seconds on the play clock there was a false start.
The refs called the penalty and marched off the penalty. They then started the clock and gave Alabama a new play clock. Was that an error? If not, is it not a way to effectively run out the entire 4th quarter if you have the lead.
