I love how important Mike Miller has suddenly become.

The year we most needed him to be important was Big 3, year 1, when he was injured all season.

By the time he was amnestied, the Heat had added Allen, Battier, Lewis.

It made total sense to HOPE Oden and/ or Beasley could add another dimension then stockpile yet another one dimensional 3 point shooter.

You guys thought Lebron was important. Little did you know, Mike Miller was the key to the whole thing. He should have been MVP.

Lebron has never won a ring without Mike Miller. Lebron was Robin to Mike Miller's Batman!!:pound:

obviously as you can see the prominence of Rose and Amare the contracts are not signed right away and dont capture current value. Rose has not played in 2 years and is WAY up there when obviously he should not be after not playing for 2 years

and i mean- if anyone thinks that a company is going to Amare Stoudemire to sell its products right now is insane-

the market takes a little while to catch up

or maybe I am wrong and that a lot of companies want Amare Stoudemire burnt to a crisp ass selling their wares and i just refuse to believe it

obviously you guys have not been paying attention

the Fisher deal was a cost cutting move more than anything-the Odom deal a cost cutting move, the Walton deal a cost cutting move-

Especially now that the Lakers are owned by multiple people in a family owned business- they cant spend into that punitive luxury tax

the russian with 7 billion and russian mining companies behind him? yah- the Cavs with Gilberts Casinos and Morgage business? The Arisons with his cruise lines? the blazers with Allens microsoft? Cuban with his windfall from his computer companies? the Clips new owner?-

all of these teams have something in common- they do not make their money from basketball- They make it elsewhere

the Lakers have to pay a significant amount of that money into revenue sharing as well. take like what, 40 million off the top each year!

the wealth of the Buss' is strictly through the Lakers-

say they want to pay the tax- and try and do 40-50 million a year- which if you are a repaater will be easy- over a 20 year ownership period thats almost a billion dollars- for a group of owners who's primary assetis JUST the basketball team- that is untenable when you also factor in revenue sharing which tehy will have to contribute into for nearly teh same amount

This is arguably the dumbest, most ill-informed post I have ever seen.

First of all, the Buss' money is NOT just from the Lakers.

Second, the Lakers bring in $200 million every season, just from the Time-Warner deal. This is before any licensed products like shirts, jerseys, hats, etc. are factored in. It's also before ticket sales, etc. are factored in. The t.v. deal alone takes care of salary and any luxury tax every year. The Lakers are always one of the top merchandise sellers in the NBA, even when they suck.

Third, the Lakers have paid among the highest, if not THE highest luxury tax in the league every single year since the league had one. Hell, ask Dan Gilbert, he has collected millions in welfare checks from the Lakers over the years.

Fourth, the Odom move was NOT a cost saving move. Odom was part of the trade for CP3 that your whiney little bitch of an owner cried to the league about and said it was "unfair".

Finally, you need to post crap like this in the "Let's Make Shit Up" thread where it belongs and quit clogging this thread up with nonsense.

I pride myself on being " Research Gal ".

It looks like the guy they traded away, Wiggins, got a bigger endorsement deal than Kyrie.

Amare is just....unreal.

I was just reading a story about Josh Childress earlier.

Phoenix is still paying him 7 mil per year.

...oh my gawd,

Robin Williams killed himself.

You're just making shit up.

James wanted Oden, and you can bet your ass that bringing back Beasley was discussed.

It was widely known what Millers fate would be. Nobody was surprised, least of all Mike.

Show me any comment at the time where James even hinted that he gave 2 shits whether Mike was here or not.

really? your going to mention jersey sales and hats when those are shared among NBA teams and DONT MAKE DICK for each individual team?

for someone that does not even know that-thatmerchandise is split evenly- to try and say i dont know what i am talking about is absolutely laughable

Miller was a key contributor to Miami's championship teams in 2012 and 2013 and is tight with James, who was disappointed the Heat used the amnesty provision on Miller after the 2012-13 season.\

Mike Miller rejoins LeBron James with Cavaliers

ay Allen has already made it clear he’d like to continue playing with James, who was upset last season when the Heat waived Mike Miller under the amnesty provision. Both players are also unrestricted free agents again this summer.

LeBron James got his right-hand man back. No, not Dwyane Wade. Mike Miller, of course.
The 3-point sharpshooter reportedly turned down bigger offers from Houston and Denver to instead reunite with his Miami buddy in Cleveland. According to ESPN’s Chris Broussard, Miller has agreed to a two-year deal with the Cavaliers. The second year is a player option. Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski reports the deal is worth $5.5 million.
Miller, 34, made huge plays and big shots for the Heat in both of their championship runs despite playing through a bad back and often looking like he was on his last leg. The Heat cut him loose last summer via the amnesty clause in a cost-cutting move that upset James, and Miami certainly missed Miller’s shooting in the lopsided Finals loss to the Spurs.

reports are true that Lebron James was really upset when Mike Miller was amnestied by the Miami Heat in 2013, today’s news should make him a lot happier on top of the fact that he’s going back to Cleveland to play at home.

Mike Miller To ?Let It Fly? With Lebron James In Cleveland

So, Lebron's pissed that Wade missed 30 games last season - part of which was to rest him for the playoffs as well as a pulled hamstring that he had to heal at the end of the season. Meanwhile, Mike Miller, in his 3 seasons with Miami, played 41, 39, and 59 games in the regular season.

Yet, Lebron got pissed when the Heat amnestied Miller and his $6 million salary since he was merely one of many wing players that could shoot the 3, that Miami had a plethora of.

Fuck Lebron.

I think you need a name change. I suggest Heatless14. Just add the extra s. Or maybe Heartless since the heart of the Heat is gone.

What's funny about the standard FN poster is they bragged about guys who sucked it up and played through injuries. But, then they give Wade a pass. Which is it? Even with the 30 games off, Wade was a shell of his former self. The new Mr Glass?

1. Of course LeBron is glad Miller joined the Heat. Had/have you seen there bench/ 3 pt shooters?

2. You won't find any articles from last July suggesting or quoting James as being upset...because he wasn't.

3. James now suggesting that he needed Miller last year is laughable. I'd love to hear him explain any type of difference Miller would have made. Maybe he should ask his SI writer if he can think of any.
