7.5 Mill ????

Pass

he's no where close to worth that, but for a year, i'd give it to him.. the flyers (and others) have all this cap space this year and nothing to do with it, might as well sign doan to a huge number

but if he sticks to a 4 year deal, no thanks.

Flyers can't sign Doan this year without moving somebody before the season starts. Not at 7 mill, anyway. We only have 3.5 mill in space and you can't take Pronger's cap hit out until after the season starts, and you have to be UNDER cap before the first day of the season.

It's the one good thing about missing on Weber - we would have taken a hit either trading Voracek's rights or somebody else's contract for less than market value, because everyone would have known we needed to free up cap space. It's why I wouldn't have minded trading somebody back for some of those picks.

Not worth over 4-4.5 IMO.

Why would any team want to commit that much money (and term) to a guy who's over 35 (i.e. under the current CBA, you're on the hook for the entire cap hit)

It's all just a media smokescreen Dash. He'll probably sign with the Canucks for 2 years at $3.5M/year.....

;)

I don't know if you should mention smoke and Canucks in the same post, filo, they're still a little touchy about that kind of thing.

He has the ability to make people like Lori Korpiskovswhatever look like real hockey players. And was probably responsible for roughly half of the 4 months of YandlMania we were forced to endure. (Tippet being responsible for the other half.)

If he doesn't re-sign with the Coyotes (I tend to like to see players stay put as much as possible) then I hope the Jets sign him.
