Just dough it: OBJ inks richest NFL shoe deal

After a competitive battle, Nike re-signed the most valuable football player on its roster in New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

Terms were not disclosed, but sources with knowledge of the deal say it's a five-year deal worth in the neighborhood of $5 million a year -- the richest shoe deal for an NFL player and about two times more than any previous deal Nike had with a football player.

The deal will make Beckham a larger brand spokesman for Nike, including campaigns outside of football.

The deal got so big because Adidas wanted to take Beckham from Nike, sources said. Nike had the right to match the offer, which it did.

A Nike spokesman said the company wasn't commenting on the deal. The story was first reported by sneaker site NiceKicks.com.

"It was a long process," Beckham's agent, Zeke Sandhu, told ESPN. "This proved he's an icon."

Good, now that he's done with the shoe deal he can put some time and effort into finding a decent hair stylist.

Mmmm, I think the priority at the moment from what I see is the hair. Maybe the hair is why he's so angry? :)

haha, maybe... But I really thinks it's that punter net that is the problem

What do these guys have to do for a shoe deal? They aren't designing them, making them, doing anything but wear them and show up at events. Sheesh, I wish I had been born with more sports skill.

who pays this clown:suds:

Odell Beckham - WR - Giants
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports Odell Beckham has told people close to him he is targeting over $20 million per year on a new deal.

Beckham is signed for one more year at $8.5 million, so contract extension talks have already begun. "He's in the twenties (million per year)," said Garafolo regarding Beckham's asking price in annual average. "He wants to be in the low twenties." The "low twenties" is lower-end franchise quarterback money. Antonio Brown is presently the NFL's highest-paid receiver at $17 million per year.

Give him 4 years at $90M, back loaded with only like $18M guaranteed. he gets what he wants, the team gets what they want. Then they can cut him if his injuries keep happening or make him lose a step.
