Rumors abound that Franco is trade bait. The Phillies could trade him for relief pitching etc. The Phillies are looking at potential 3rd basemen. However Franco is improving with the bat and with his hustle lately. If we get a rental player to
help us then we need to figure out if we can sign him long term. Even so, I prefer to win it all this year, so go for the gusto

They should not trade Franco, period. He is really coming to his own and he provides a consistent deep ball with his bat and stability in the locker room. Sometimes trading a player is more detrimental to a developing team than growth-promoting.

I'd keep Franco but I keep hoping he'll really bust out and hit in the clutch more. He looks so wild at the plate. He'll only be 26 this August.

His hitting is productive. He drives in runs. Fielding is average.

looking at the numbers, he's sacrificed his power to reduce the strikeout rate, it's at least something. hate seeing another few runs come across the plate from shitty defense. error to hernandez, but would another SS at least have gotten the force?
