After a 1 out walk to Harper, Thor has his 2nd E-1 on another pickoff throw...Harper takes 2nd.
Thor walks Hoskins.

But he gets the next 2 hitters to fly out.
He's now at 88 pitches thru 5.

2 Mets have been HBP so far.
Alonso and Frazier(who just got tossed)
Hechavarria replaces him at 1st.
Smith doubles....Mets have 2nd & 3rd w/ 1 out.

Rosario just got HBP to load the bases.
That's the 3rd Mets hitter Arrieta has plunked tonight.

Arrieta is a POS.

Now Callaway gets tossed.

Dammit...it really would've been ideal for them to score again there in the 5th when they had a runner on 3rd and only 1 out.
Davis PH for Thor but grounded out..& McNeil who usually puts the ball in play whiffed to end the inning.

6-4 Mets...heading to the 6th.
The bullpen needs to step up now.

Mets go down 1-2-3 in the 6th.

Big shocker...Cano is the only starter w/o a hit so far.
He's 0 for 4...and has left 6 mets runners on base.

Gsellman is back on the mound in the 7th.
He gets the 1st out, then hits Segura w/ Harper on deck.

Now Matz takes over in the 7th...with 1 on & 1 out.

Harper singles on Matz' 1st pitch.....2 on 1 out.

Hoskins up.
Matz gets him to line out....
...2 down for Realmuto.

edit:
Matz allows a 2 out rbi single...then gets Jay Bruce to ground out.

Mets Lead 6-5 at the stretch.

Rosario worked a 2 out walk then got caught stealing 2nd.

Onto the 8th.

6-5 Mets.
(but for how long?)

Matz on the mound for the 8th.
He gives up a leadoff single on an 0-2 pitch.

I'm sure this will end well for the Amazins...

Yikes.

Seth Lugo takes over.....and he also gives up a single.

2 on ...no outs.

Awesome.
More late inning bullpen stupidity.

McNeil strokes a 2 out single in the 8th.
He's 4 for 5...and now hitting .356

LGM!!!

Bleech....Alonso grounds out.

Mets clinging to a 6-5 lead heading to the 9th.

Buckle up.

Diaz is coming in.

He'll be facing Harper, Hoskins & Realmuto.

Next:

Mets RHP Zack Wheeler (6-5, 4.42 ERA) who could become an attractive trade target for contenders before the July 31 deadline will start the rubber game for NY on Sunday.
New York has won his last five starts at home, and the right-hander is 5-2 with a 2.95 ERA in 13 career outings against Philadelphia.
He'll face Phillies' RHP Aaron Nola (7-2, 3.89 ERA) in the series finale before the all-star break. Nola has allowed one earned run with 28 strikeouts in 23 innings over his last three starts. He is 6-1 with a 3.48 ERA in 11 career games against the Mets, including seven shutout innings of one-hit ball with 10 Ks on June 27.

Geeez, Wheels...WTF, dude!

Wheeler/Mets looking like they're heading into the break with an even bigger thud than the front office thought. He's already at 94 pitches.

Phils lead 4-0 in the middle of the 5th.
(all scored in the 1st)

Mets still looking for their 1st hit.

Cano is still batting 3rd?
Lagares (hitting .176 ) is also in the lineup?

Davis & Conforto aren't in the lineup with a week off looming??

Callaway is a Clown.

Mets go easily 1-2-3 in the 5th.

SMH.
Wheeler walks the leadoff guy in the 6th on his 100th pitch...
...then after the obligatory mound visit, he gives up a 2 run homer to Jay Bruce.

Now the "pitching guru" brings in Familia.

Effing Genius!
Brilliant!!

6-0 Phils.

Brodie might be throwing more than just office chairs when this one is done...lol
(which btw, it already is)
