I cannot believe that two teams that lost to unranked teams are still in the top 4 for the college playoff

1.Bama- They look unstoppable, but they do not have an many quality wins as Ohio State, they have no top 10 wins. How can they put them up so high.
2.Ohio State- Did themselves a favor by losing to Penn State. Now they can get to the playoff without having to play in the B10 championship game. Just goes to show that conference championships are not important.
    3. Michigan- Lose to unranked Iowa and still in the playoff. I thought you were supposed to drop after an embarrassing loss. also lost starting QB for the year. Other than the Iowa game, they have dominated everyone on thier schedule. Still in contention to win the B10.
    4. Clemson- Inconsistent and overrated. Should have lost to Louisville, should have lost to NC State, lost unranked Pitt. I think that this is one team in the top 5 that WVU would dominate if we played them.
    5. Louisville- This is a really good team with only 1 loss to Clemson in which they played like the better team. Likely to get a pass at the conf championship game but still make the playoff.
6 Washington- You just got dominated and only dropped 1 spot in the rankings.
    7. Wisconsin- Overrated along with your entire conference.
    8. Penn State- Also Lost to sPitt, Dominated by Michigan, but put themselves in a position to win the B10 (Best conference in CFB according to the committee) and not make the playoff.
    9. Oklahoma- Lost to unranked Houston. Would be favored over half of the teams ranked above them if they played.
    10. Colorado- 2 losses to ranked teams
11 OK State- Blew a playoff chance against FCS team. Returned the favor by taking out WVUs unefeated seson chance.
    12. Utah Beat BYU by less than WVU. Lost to unranked Cal
13 USC 3 losses including blowout by Alabama (which is BTW Bamas best win) loss to unranked Stanford. You have gotta to be kidding me.
14 WVU Only loss to #11 ranked team. Take out the conference bias and we should be about 6 or 7.

My top 5 best teams regardless of record.
    Bama
    Michigan
    Ohio State
    Louisville
    Oklahoma

Teams deserving to be in playoff: My feeling is that if you can't win your conference, you do not deserve to be in. We have 4 conferences and very few inter conference games to get a picture of which conference is better
    Bama
    Michigan
    Washington
    Clemson
    WVU

I agree, the whole thing is a farce, it isn't so much a league bias as it is a team name bias, regardless of anything else, the blue blood names, Ohio State, Mich, ND, Bama, Okla, etc will always get the nod over anyone else. The fact that half of div1A football teams are not eligible to "win" the "championship" when the season starts says it all. IF Oklahoma had only one loss, to Ohio State, THEY would be top four right now.

In 2+ years, the committee has shown a bias. They value wins.

Here is the order of merit... P5 wins > G5 wins
    road wins > home wins
    P5 road wins > G5 road wins
P5 wins over teams with above .500
    Top 25 wins
Top 25 road wins > Top 25 home wins

At the end of the season, teams will have earned a conference championship.

Nope, 1 loss TCU or Baylor stays home, one loss OU or Texas goes to "playoff", They say they value conference champions, we will see if the b11 goes how I think it will.

I agree it is more teams than conf.....they would never take a 14-0 Vandy 14-0 Cal 14-0 Kansas 14-0 Purdue top four no matter what....other teams would have quality L's :gaah:

I love how they knock the Big 12 for no title game, but are hot and heavy over LVille who will not even make their title game.

I have been really surprised down here in the heart of SEC territory with the number of SEC fans that have commented how WVU is being dissed. If it is so apparent to Alabama and Auburn fans, how is the committee missing it.

WVU is an SEC school at heart, and the SEC guys connect with us. We have an office in Memphis, and many of the guys there are from Miss, LA, and Ark, and to a man, they all like WVU. It was great fun when we were working through the SEC West a number of years ago having discussions with those guys.

I honestly hope you're wrong. It is set up based on resume. To date, it has followed through on this promise.

Neither TCU or BU owned as many top 25 victories as tOSU in '14.

There are probably 6-8 teams every year that one could argue "belong" or "deserve" to be in the "playoff", the question that needs answered in the bias question is: why they seem to ALWAYS choose the blue bloods over the lesser name teams, the answer is to sell more TV ads. Did Ohio State deserve it over TCU or Baylor, NO, they ALL "deserved" a spot. By the way, last year, Oklahoma had the exact record as TCU and Baylor did the year before, as did Ohio State, and OSU STILL beat more ranked teams than Oklahoma. The "championship" in major college football has ALWAYS been based as much, if not more on a teams name, than their game. The whole reason that the Bowl Alliance, Bowl coalition, and BCS were started was to prevent 1984 from happening again......can NOT allow a no name to ever be named "champion" again.

That's one of my biggest pet peeves with it all. "deserved" a spot or "belong" that's so far off. How many times has the CFB world seen a team that didn't "belong' in a bowl game with team X and the cupcake bloodies team X's nose and takes their lunch money?
These playoff games are a MONTH away from when they get set up, if it were during the season, especially at the end then...meh maybe I agree, the depth of talent for the blue blood is too much but with a month to heal and prep? totally different animal. Wish we at least had a tournament of conference champions as the playoff.

There needs to be a real playoff, with all ten league champions, and either two or six "at large" teams, JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER LEVEL OF FOOTBALL!!!!! That isn't going to happen, as the blue bloods are scared to death of a) sharing the money b) losing the games to a MAC team.....As long as there is humans picking, there will be a bias toward the blue bloods, a two loss Ohio State will ALWAYS be seen as better than an undefeated Illinois, even playing the same exact schedule......they ought to just do away with the ridiculous notion of a "national champion", I liked it MUCH better when it was viewed as what it really is: just something to talk about, no one gave much thought about it until 1984, then they pulled out all the stops to insure it never happened again.

Win loss records reflect conference battles more than anything else. When a conference has parity, teams cannilize each other and there are no clear cut champs. When a conference is weak, a dominant team looks even better. There is not enough inter conference play to really evaluate teams in different conferences. It can really be a shot in the dark. USC could be the best team in the land and we will never know. I feel that a teams need to win their conference to advance. The playoff should change the name to invitational tournament.

WVU is ranked #10 by the old system. As many might remember, it placed a huge value on the human polls.

IMO, the CFP is so much better than the BCS system. There are no computers and their crazy formulas. There is no way a repeat of 2012 will ever happen. We will never see a deserving champion of a conference with a better resume of wins eliminated because college coaches from the SEC purposely ranked Okie St low in order to assist one of their conference teams.

I admit the committee favors teams who've recently had elite success and rank them highly until proven otherwise. Some cry this is blue blood bias. I think it is human nature. Is it fair? No.

But, in its first year, the CFP gave FSU... the defending BCS NC's... a pass throughout the year. FSU underwhelmed.. and in the end... the CFP ranked them appropriately... lower than the human polls.

Last year, tOSU was the defending champions. They slept walked through the season. The committee gave them a pass despite an underwhelming performance against a weak schedule.

From what I been hearing, it will be a non issue after the Baylor game. Dana gonna be here for awhile longer. He's earned his extension so...good:suds:
