That's awesome great job! I'd love to see this year's draft maybe I get out of the basement haha! I still think needs should be factored into our draft otherwise it doesn't make sense. Why draft OG or DT as they aren't glamorous when people vote...

Well clearly the guy drafting for the Eagles should be a strong consideration for other teams if the Eagles don't pay up to keep him!

So, lets figure out a way to punish Shane for being the Cleveland Browns!

He's already punished enough by being a fan. Rams fans, Jax fans.. :L You'd think with all these picks they'd figure it out someday.

:hellno:

What we should do is have a thread "team needs" and maybe an extra day for guys to really look at the picks and the teams needs as posted, then come to a vote.....
Just post the team needs beside the team and dock a team points for missing any something like that would work. Of course the rest is based on opinion as the player rankings are all over the place but that would help. After all needs are part of the draft although teams can adjust their rosters afterwards we can't.

Really the way to look at it IMO is:

1) how many starters in year 1 or 2
2) talent/value of pick -- did you get a 2nd round talent in the 3rd
3) team needs

Carolina got 3 starters IMO. Cleveland got 2 most likely and others had 2 as well.

Cleveland winning is all because they had a ton of picks, not because they used them well.

I rated my top 5 by average weighted pick value. I compared the pick to the rank on the CBS rankings (printed at the time of the beginning of the draft and de-emphasized reaches/steals as the picks went deeper into the draft. So, no real opinion on players or needs, just how the teams used their picks vs my rankings sheet, with less emphasis on later picks. My top 10 were Arizona, New Orleans, New York Giants, Atlanta, Kansas City, Seattle, New England, Buffalo, Philadelphia, and Dallas (the only teams with positive pick value (steal vs reach). Dallas' picks would've put them #2 overall, but I had to push them down due to only having 3 picks.

Cleveland got a negative score from me (more reaches than steals). Picking the #1 player at #1 is a net wash (CBS also had Trubisky ranked 12th, so that was a wash as well). The only Browns picks that were selected lower than their rank were Dupre (barely) and Josh Carraway. Again, just going by the CBS rankings; everyone's rankings are different.

Problem is that everyone rates players differently Walters is different from cbs as an example. Although the true judge is where they go in the actual draft. OG won't win a popularity contest but they will be taken and should be rewarded for it. I agree on starters but hard to tell today.

Even your true judge in the draft is not "true" because you have idiot teams like the Rams or Browns that don't know how to draft and can reach on a player because they woke up on the left side of the bed.

Ok, I did it, sort of. Each pick is scored as follows:

1 - Diffence between when player was actually picked and when picked in the mock (if player pick #1 overall but picked #2 in mock score would be 1, but if picked #2 overall and #1 in mock then -1).
2 - 10 point bonuses for picking a player picked by your team (no matter when he was picked), picking a player when at the pick where he was actually picked and for picking a player of the position that at the pick (so if a QB was picked 1, and a QB was picked #1 in reality, that's 10 points).
3 - Add AV (as per pro-football-reference.com) x 10 to account for performance.
I'd like to see Stokes do this again after the draft and see how it shakes out would be interesting. Of course after a year or two you get the best viewpoint.

Haha true but you would think that it would be closer than us guys guessing.

see, I hate the after the fact judgement... I know its how you gotta do it... But, for example lets say Myles Garrett is a bust... would you consider him the wrong choice and pick at number one??

Problem with football, is that a players success is so dependent on the team they play for that it is impossible to know what was a good or bad draft pick... and whether a team should have made that pick or not... Who knows, even the players who are seen to be successes, if the team took someone else maybe that player would have been better...

I hear ya in this draft rating it against the current draft year would give you the best results of how well you drafted except of course if the rams draft your guy you are sunk according to SJ haha! Probably never come up with an absolute better way but it's just interesting to see how you did by different measuring sticks. By no means do I think that Nosferatu did anything wrong here it was a great draft just shooting the shit. Although there's no *!$!?#/*!!!! Way the Fins drafted this badly... :2cents::2cents::2cents::lol:

No I do as well....

But health concerns are the biggest concerns, I watched this kid battle back from multiple knee injuries to having a fantastic season last year, ( plus he was playing hurt) he makes the uncatchable passes look easy...
Predicting injuries is always a tricky business but if a WR does bust in the modern game, it seems like its almost always due to injuries. At least in the post Matt Millen era.

It just makes you wonder what he could do in the NFL if he gets to a team that has a QB with a strong enough arm to really push teams. He made USC look bad at the college level and likely practiced against the elite UW secondary. I'm pretty high on him as a prospect

In NFL Networks mock - Dameshek took him for Seattle. Since Wilson already overthrows Lockett too often - maybe he can run some of these passes down.
