Looks like the ACC, big ten, and SEC are stuck at 14.

My god the Maryland athletic department is in such financial instability right now it is rather ridiculous. They can't draw for their football program and now their basketball team can't draw either. It's so bad they hired an outsourcing ticket company to try and help, and it clearly looks like its failing.

This is arguably the worst run athletic department in the country.

Wow. The ACC must be in the market to buy their own island.

Not so fast!

We might invite Old Dominion, Idaho, BYU and New Mexico State, none of whom will have to fork over any conference exit fees because they are all independent.

Yeah. That could happen.

ODU is CAA...I think the football team had to do a year or two of independent while they transition from FCS to FBS

I think I am reading tongue firmly in cheek, but in case not, when I say conference expansion, I mean taking schools from other AQ conferences.

I can still see the BigXII trying to add 2 teams to get a CCG. I think Cincy and Memphis have been thrown around. Houston, SMU fit the geographic footprint, if not the quality footprint.

Great news. Maryland....well.....the B1G can afford it. Not a big deal either way if you ask me.

1. The B1G isn't going to have to cut the check Maryland is and I doubt the other schools would think kindly if their payouts were lowered to help Maryland out.

2A. Expansion could still happen but it would take basically the Big 12, SEC and B1G working together and going after multiple schools at once. For example if they all went to 16 and took exclusively from the ACC it would amount to 10 schools (2 B1G, 2 SEC & 4 Big 12). The 10 schools leaving could form a majority and vote down exit fees.

2B. The PAC 12 gets involved and the PAC, SEC, ACC and B1G basically split up the Big 12. This could take 8 of the 10 schools.

Would it ever happen I doubt it but the possibility exist. The one thing that could give enough incentive for it to happen is if the major conferences decided to form a supper division in CFB and they wanted 4 16 team conferences that would feed a 4 team playoff.

LOL, no, the B12 isn't trying to expand, and certainly not to any school mentioned here. Where did you pull this from, cause it isn't accurate in any way shape or form.

Read carefully folks...........this decision is regarding the Maryland motion to have the case dismissed. The case can now proceed in North Carolina. Nothing has been settled/decided yet.

Then there's the pending case in Maryland.

It's going to take a while for all this to be settled.

They've asked to get an exception to have a CCG. Don't think they will get it. Then they have to expand or let that money go by. I think they will try to expand. No official sources ... just a lot of discussion on this and other boards.

Grab Cincy and negotiate with BYU. Unless there is some sort of chance. Louisville wants out of the ACC before officially ever joining.
