Now you see why I made the sarcastic comment on Tuesday that this team should "tank and rebuild for 2014." Granted, it's an overreaction... but at this rate, you have to wonder if this team actually has what it takes to reach the postseason.

(When even a 1- or 2-run deficit feels insurmountable, you know that something is wrong.)

We haven't forced a 1-2-3 inning since the first Boston game on Friday night

Getting 3 runs is good enough... but Jones still needs to work on his plate discipline.

Well, despite AJ's inning ending, inept performance at the plate, the O's do take the lead. Hopefully, they can make the one run good.

Jones always has to do it all himself, never thinks of drawing a walk to get Davis up with 2 on.

I don't know if it's good enough, they need to break a game like this open.

Point taken-- but I meant 3 runs in an inning (as opposed to over an entire game).

I'm starting to adjust my opinion of Urrutia. When he first was added to the lineup I thought he was a flash in the pan that wouldn't hit consistently. But I'm liking his at bats. He seems to be a pretty good contact hitter. That's what a DH needs to be. Someone that will record one or two hits every game.

Why isn't he hitting higher in the lineup, though? (Lack of power, maybe?)

EDIT: Also, I guess I can now safely take back my "we have a lineup?" comment for one game.

Yeah. He seems to be a contact hitter. He does seem to put the ball in play. I don't think he can be relied on to provide much power, though I did see him drive a ball hard to the wall not long ago.
