Non auto-bid BCS teams

How does it work, if your ranked above a certain spot from a non automatic qualifier conference you get in?

Now what if lets say 2 teams are above 15 do they get in? I believe its 15 too...........but fresno and NIU could both be above 15

If a non AQ team finished above an AQ team and is ranked in the top 16 they automatically get selected. Only the higher ranked non AQ team can be selected, not both.

As of now, Fresno State would be a lock.

There is no rule only 1 can make it. As I understand, only 1 is guaranteed.

3. The champion of Conference USA, the Mid-American Conference, the Mountain West Conference, or the Sun Belt Conference (hereinafter "non-AQ group") will earn an automatic berth in a BCS bowl game if either:
A. Such team is ranked in the top 12 of the final BCS Standings, or
B. Such team is ranked in the top 16 of the final BCS Standings and its ranking in the final BCS Standings is higher than that of a champion of a conference that has an annual automatic berth in one of the BCS bowls.
No more than one such team from the non-AQ group shall earn an automatic berth in any year, unless non-AQ teams finish both No. 1 and No. 2 in the final BCS Standings. (Note: A second team may be eligible for at-large eligibility as noted below.) If two or more teams from those conferences satisfy the provisions for an automatic berth, then the team with the highest finish in the final BCS Standings will receive the automatic berth, and the remaining team or teams will be considered for at-large selection if it meets the criteria.

second team can earn at large by finishing with 9 wins and in top 14. but at that point it would be up to the bowls to pick them

fresno should have to play niu then the fans of winning school can live on message boards for the next 20 years proclaiming the were the true national champions and the big boys dont have to worry about them ruining what could be some great bowl game match ups. win-win!

yes, one non aq for sure.

ND or an ACC team get the Orange Bowl tie in. Not sure the exact scenarios here.

and this is a very good thing. Especially with Ville joining ACC

and while it wont matter what their ranking it isnt going to change much from how it is now. as it is for the last decade or so there has been a team from one of those conferences in at or among the top 20 a lot in the top 15 and quite a few top 10.
